Of course you're happy, PS2 version is PES 6 with a couple of extra whistles & knobs.

The next-gen version is a whole new kettle of fish. Once more for your delight, edification and obvious ignorance, i said hypothetical.

Some company's do delay releases for the same reasons, to improve, iron out flaws etc. Sometimes it makes a better game because of it.

Remember, this is just peoples thoughts on a hypothetical situation.

hmmm a couple of extra whistles and knobs, ignorance is bliss!!! world tour mode is a great addition!!!!!!!!

For my EDIFICATION AND OBVIOUS IGNORANCE (LOL)!!!! i HAVE played on numerous occasions the PS3 version and can understand peoples frustrations but it was rushed to be released for the PS3 as we can see with all the updates needed and therfore ps2 i feel is the best version currently!!! I will wait for them to to get it right before i purcahse the next gen console rather than wasting my money at this moment in time!!

PS how many football games dont release yearly/seasonally?????

i have to agree with ficklered
PES2008 on ps2 is really the same thing with afew extras.
come on you have to admit it
world tour and that other community thing is really the only things new or shall i say added onto pes2008
PES2008 is a whole new difference on next gen
you pass alot more
and less dribbles past the whole team
before the ps3 came out i used to play pes6 all the time ye and in my masterleague i bought tevez and i used to run through the whole team without needing to pass to anyone. really the same thing woth PES2008 on ps2.then i bought my ps3 and its so clear that you cannot do that on next gen.
next gen is more teamwork.
to one side i think that konami were a bit lazy on this version and mashed things up a bit but on the other hand
its better than fifa and still is the greatest football game on earth.

Pes2008 follows all other playstation versions each one is slightly better than the last starting with the first version on the psone + the PS3 version looks to me like an updated PSone version i played long ago just with better graphics!!! team work or destroying someone with one player has always been the same the better players can dribble maybe you should gain a bit more experience!!!!

i got enough experience mate!!!!!
ye "lets watch hargreaves run through the whole team"
ye "lets watch Rooney pass Clichy"
maybe you should play top player and not beginner

how much of these 'better players' you mention are on pes2008
theyve underestimated almost everyone
Fabregas being one of the biggest

If your good enough to go past others then why not!!!! maybe next prem game Ronaldo should not beat 3 men then score!!!

FYI since the first version ive always played the highest level, maybe u should drop down to beginner to help you beat players!!!

and i agree a few players are underated like fabregas, flamini hargreaves carrick etc on pes2008!!

At last! Agreement! PES was rushed, missed the proverbial boat and dropped the ball. (Fortunately Fifa, a-la butterfingered Robinson, failed to pick it up.) The PS2 version does have more features, but hasn't really evolved at all. The engine is a lazy PES6 brush job. Possibly another missed opportunity seeing as this is likely the last on PS2...

Having played and actually owning both versions, they each have their own merits. To compare PS3 version to PS1 is funny. Not in a laughing way mind.

In all honesty, i find the PS2 version a touch arcadey. The PS3 version 'feels' more substantial & as with all PES's the more you play the more you get used to and adapt to it. Although the online lag is still a piss take.

I played PES5 for two years and I was quite content. PES6 was abysmal in my opinion.

I'm trying to tolerate PES2008 but I still think PES5 pisses on all of them.

Quoted in Agreement.

Ilike PES2008, but PES5 is far better and, in my opinion, the best Pro Evo that has been produced

I know it sounds funny but serioulsly to me it reminds me of an older version that was updated that wasnt great on the psone (due to being ahead of the game) if i can find the game ill tell you which version as ive lent my bro in-law the console for Uni!!! (bloody students lol)

I'd be interested to know which version, as a long time player i struggle to remeber the 'old days'!

As for lending things to students, especially relatives who are students, i have one thing to say:

good luck getting it back!!! :D
