I'm really liking the sound of this, and it's quite pleasing that I'm finally getting my head round this (with your help of course brother).

I think this should be my last question now (hopefully!);

Is there any significance to the 'Legends' category in Universe mode, so for example, if I place Shawn Michaels or any other retired wrestler in this category, will they appear in Universe mode still?

Nah, the Legend status holds no significance. Well, actually, it's upto you. I think you want just Raw and Smackdown so you're good to go. But you can always replace brands. So if you wanted a Legends brand, or a WCW/ECW one you would put it in Raw or Smackdown's place and then the superstars under that brand would be active.

I hope that is clear, as reading it over, it sounds like a clusterfuck

BELIEVE
Yeah, I know what you mean. I'll be sticking with just Raw and Smackdown this time round. I'm guessing it's just the two weekly shows? I wouldn't mind incorporating the Superstars event either, as it'd give me a chance to have a couple of matches with lower card talent such as Alex Riley, Tyson Kidd, Zeke etc. I think by wrestling with all of these 'current' Superstars, my interest in them may even transcend the game, and make my usual WWE viewing more enjoyable too. It would be a nice bonus.

I believe I've now finished organising the wrestlers in relation to their brand. I'll finish it up tomorrow, regarding allies and rivals. I want to be very meticulous with this, afterall, with it being my first time, I want to make it a work of art!

You have 3 weekly shows - Raw, Superstars and Smackdown. Raw and Smackdown is a 4 match card. Superstars is a 3 match card. PPV's are a 6 match card.

That sounds very ideal. As I say, I'm going to tweak everything further tomorrow before I start Universe mode. I've a couple of attires and entrances to update.

I've just been going through my roster, and editing the 'allies' and 'rivals' of each Superstar. I've still got quite a few to finish editing though, but I'm looking forward to finally getting started with this Universe mode.

It seems quite strange though, that despite altering the rosters (ultimately making many of my Superstars and downloads 'free agents'), the CPU still feels the need to insert them into the first Raw show. I'm obviously going to just edit every match to meet my desires, but it's just funny seeing the CPU think the following is suitable:

David Otunga & Michael McGillicutty vs. Billy Gunn & Jim Ross.

Are those guys in tag teams? Because Universe always will always use tag teams from your list.

Also, was that match a Remarkable one? (hope not)

Deleted my save to reset universe, and I'm going to set it up after pizza. I also bought that fiver on PSN and bought a couple of items from WWE shop (All Unlockables, Attribute Customizer and a couple of wrestlers). I won't edit EVERY match, but I dare I'll give the main events a tweak.

Can you edit the remarkable matches and have them remain remarkable?

My only tag teams that are active are current WWE tag teams. Otunga & McGillicutty are not a tag team on my game.

...and yes, it was considered a 'remarkable match'.

Needless to say, I'll probably be editing every single match. I do intend to play most though for sure, hell, that's how I enjoy the game!

I've spent hours setting everything up, and my universe is about to begin properly. First Raw is as follows...

- Triple H vs Alberto Del Rio
- Battle Royal for the US Title
- The Miz vs CM Punk
- Kane & Bigshow vs John Cena & David Otunga

The first three matches are of my own invention, the main event was "remarkable" so I didn't want to edit it. See what happens I suppose.

Triple H beats ADR, straight up, no bullshit. 6-Man Battle Royale was a lot of fun, managed to get Swagger to retain.

CM Punk beats The Miz, and even though this was just a normal match (one I'd edited too may I add) at the end BONG! Taker comes out and gestures that he wants a crack at Punk's WWE Title. So funky shit can happen even when it's not the 'remarkable' match.

Main event, Bigshow turns on Kane and leaves him to get beat, setting up a potential angle between the two. Even though I'm going to dump that Kane and replace him with a decent CAW. Ahem.

Joel - I don't know why I didn't get universe to begin with, but I really enjoyed that. And that was just the first Raw. Can't wait to get up to some PPVs and get some serious shit hitting the fan. Already thinking Punk/Taker for WM perhaps, the strap vs the streak, maybe I can get Taker to win the Royal Rumble?

I wouldn't mind being able to remove The Road Warriors and Demolition from being number 1 and 2 contender's for the Unified WWE Tag titles, despite me not wanting them in my Universe mode - as they're under the roster 'legends', yet are still major title contenders.

I'm trying to replace a few of my downloaded Superstars with more updated versions (Epico & Primo), but it's proving more a hassle than I imagined for two reasons; the online servers are shocking at best (still), and the Universe mode is still quite buggy, and it's proving difficult to remove the belts from the previous Epico & Primo - even though I've already done it apparently.

I think I'll probably just leave the Universe mode alone, and stick to exhibition matches. It's less hassle, and as a result, more fun. Plus with exhibition matches, the commentary works properly.

Questions then:

1. I don't want Demolition nor The Road Warriors to be a part of my WWE Universe mode (should I eventually start one), so how do I strip them of the classic WWE and World titles which they each hold, whilst removing them as top contenders for the current Unified WWE Tag titles as well?

2. Despite stripping Primo & Epico of the current WWE Tag titles, when I attempt to delete the Superstars themselves (so that I can download more up to date ones), I am stopped from deleting them as a message appears telling me they are still the current title holders, and as such I have to remove the titles from them. The problem is, they are no longer title holders, nor even a team, yet the game doesn't seem to recognise this, hence the big fat mess my Universe mode is in despite not even starting yet.

*sigh*

I'm really enjoying Universe, but it's not without it's faults. Among the major ones I've observed;

-You can't vacate titles, you have to put them on someone else.
-You can't draw up a card beforehand, you have to edit matches on the fly

Okay I can only think of two, but they are really annoying, particularly that second one to me. Also, there should be a shortcut to the Match Options menu on the matchup screen - I want some tough matches where I play on Harder difficulties, and some squashes where I play on Easy.

Break the team up. Once you do this, they will not appear in your game. Also, if they have any rivals who are on the main allies or rivals who are on the main roster, get rid of them.

Check to see if you have stripped them from titles in both Universe and Exhibition.

Thanks so much again Joel brother. The latter has helped, which is excellent - I obviously just overlooked Primo & Epico as exhibition champions.

I've not tried the former yet, but I've just turned WWE '12 on now, so I'm going to give it a go before perhaps finally starting Universe mode tonight.

My interest in this game is in no way decreasing which is quite a wonderful thing. Most games thesedays become quite tiresome fairly quickly I think, but despite the many bugs and errors this game has, the gameplay itself is just too good to ignore.

EDIT*

Regarding the Demolition and Road Warriors being top contenders for the Unified Tag titles, how do I go about disbanding them as teams? They both hold Tag title gold (classic titles), so in order to split them up, I have to strip them of their gold. However in order to do so, I need to transfer the titles to another team of course, but to do that, I'll then need to create a new team - add them to the 'team list', and then give them the older titles. Once this new team have been placed within the team list though in Universe mode, doesn't this then mean that they can become contenders for the current Tag titles if both Demolition and Road Warriors can be right now?

I've created a tag team of Eddie and Chavo Guerrero, and set their rosters as 'Legends' so that they don't interfere with my Universe mode. However, having just tried to give them the two classic Tag title belts, a message appears telling me that in order to actually give them the belts, they must be on either the Raw or Smackdown brand...

It's really quite a confusing situation, even more so I imagine than the above paragraph!

Fuck, this is weird, because the guys holding the classic tag titles in my game (two created scrubs that I made to hold all the titles I didn't want) aren't on a active brand, or are they even a registered tag team.

What happens when you try to put the titles on just two wrestlers that aren't a team?

You can't put any of the Tag titles on Superstars who aren't a team.

I created a team of Chavo and Eddie as I say, and assigned them to the Smackdown brand. I then gave them the two older Tag titles, before then switching their brand back to Free Agents. Now, even though they're Free Agents, and now holding the older belts, Chavo and Eddie are also #2 contenders for the current Tag titles which will be used in Universe mode.

I'm a little OCD so these things bug me. Is title contendership somewhat important in Universe mode? If it's not really important at all, then I think I'll just start the mode tomorrow.

It's not really important, as you can have title matches whenever and with whoever. But I'm just kinda confused why it's not working.

Yeah, it is very strange. Perhaps once I get my Universe mode under way, then the contendership will straighten itself out.

I just need to download this better version of Epico, which seems to have vanished from the Community Creations all of a sudden. Pretty much every CAW in Community Creations now has real-life renders which is impressive, however many of these CAWs are of TNA wrestlers.

Is the server still complete dogshit? Last time I tried to download people, it made me want to strangle children.

Also, did your Royal Rumble winner do anything to choose who he wanted to face?
