Wrestling Video Games (WWE '13)

I got it yesterday. I like it, but I haven't really played it enough. There doesn't seem to be a great deal changed since the last time I bought it, which was two years ago. The story creator is fun, but time consuming. Hopefully I've got an old keyboard stashed away somewhere. If not I might just book matches and treat it like good old GM mode.
Has anyone played career mode yet? I wanted to start one as Punk, but wasn't sure how it worked and I was worried the stories might be terrible ala Candice turning you into a woman. :faceplm:

There doesn't seem to be any real "stories" in career mode. Road To WrestleMania mode is where the stories are at nowadays.
I started a career earlier with Swagger and you basically have matches with others in the frame for title shots. For example, the first one I went for was the US Title and you need 13 stars (or something like that) to fight in a number one contender's match. The stars are the rating given for the match with whoever you choose from the list. It took me 3 matches to have the number one contenders shot, then won the title.
Winning one title unlocks the opportunity to go for another. And you go on and on like this until you've unlocked all of the titles and won them all, I guess. I've won the US and ECW Titles and have the IC/World and WWE Tag Team title paths open.
There's a "Be entered into the Hall Of Fame" gold trophy for this mode, so I'm thinking that you'll be considered HoF worthy once you win everything, but I could be wrong.
Anyone else got the Royal Rumble/Championship Scramble trophies/achievements yet? I got them all the first day I had the game. The Rumble match is MUCH better now and would be great fun if you're playing with friends.

Swagger is great to play as though. I had a match with him last night against Rey and I destroyed him.

I finished off my Swagger Career after winning both the WWE and World Titles and defending the World Title 3 times.

Just started my first RTWM game with HBK earlier on. Probably won't play on the game too much until next week now though.
Btw, the story designer is awesome. It's pretty much like EWR or TEW, except now you can make your stories available to others and they can play through it, under the conditions you set.

I saw my mate playing a few games of this yesterday.
I found it hilarious when he, who was playing as Randy Orton, couldn't get Batista off the ladder, in one of them money grabbing matches (I don't know what they're called, where they hang off the suitcase thats in the air).
It looked quite good, better than the last one anyway.

Are there any PS3 users with this?
I'm in the middle of creating a story, and I'll have more motivation to finish it if I know people from here would download and play it.
Also, I've completed the Career mode with Swagger and have done the HBK/Mickie James RTWM storylines. Depending on how much my nephew is here this week, it'll either be Brand Warfare or Orton's next.

I've lot a lot of little gripes, so I'm just going to get it off my chest:
-Title matches defended in a cage or cell. In the cut scene where the ref holds up the belt, no cage can be seen whatsoever.
-Scramble matches. The champion comes out with the belt, yet it can clearly be seen next to the announce table in the intro. Winning these matches are nearly impossible.
-Royal Rumble. It's been improved, but still boring as shit for the most.
-I was playing HBK's Road to 'Mania earlier in a match vs JBL. Orton interferes, costing me a ton of potential pinfalls. The ref decides to do fuck all, but when I decide enough is enough and go nuts with a chair, I'm disqualified? I understand a bit of unfair play, but don't create shit rules up.
-Create-a-wrestler. Not only is the browsing system to download them flawed (re-typing their name EVERY search), hardly any are accurate.
-Saving a highlights package. I tried one out and when I watched it, it was a buggy mess with the crowd popping out all over the ring canvas.

If they spent half the time they did on programming tables to break in different places as they did completely overhauling the gameplay, maybe we'd have a half decent game.

Depends if the tables, ladders and the like actually have weight to them. Hitting someone with a trashcan or guitar looks more devastating than a chair or sledgehammer in the current games.
I'd rather they just slowed the game down and made height and weight mean something. Rey shouldn't be able to roll Big Show up dammit. They need to bring GM mode back too. I get bored playing exhibition matches.

Sounds great! It mentions DLC too, with those who buy the game brand new receiving the first batch free. So one way or another, I think Nexus are a certainty.
I'll probably wait for the inevitable £10 off the RRP which Amazon seems to do a week or 2 after the release of most games though.
