is it worth getting?
Have they sorted out the countering system? I used to prefer playing single player to multiplayer, as countering was so easy, it became a counter-into a counter-into another counter-countered again, and again, against human players. The AI wasn't strong enough to make it enough of a challenge against the computer, but it beat having almost every move countered.
Also, I don't suppose you're able to edit rosters (for Exhibition mode) and the superstar's wrestling method (i.e technical, brawler etc) are you?
Joel said:The continuous countering still occurs. But there is an option that allows you to select the AI's countering system. You can choose how regular counters happen for grapples, finishers, diving attacks etc.
I haven't looked into the create/edit mode much, but I don't think you can edit rosters for exhibition mode (Though right now, everyone is on the right brand in exhibition. It's the roster before the draft for season though, i.e. Nitro on Raw, Kennedy on Smackdown etc).
Not sure if you can change their fighting styles either. Each superstar has two different fighting styles and you choose to use one before a match begins. So if I am ever fighting HHH, I would select him to use his other fighting style (though I can't remember what it is. I think in is either brawler or technical) and not the powerhouse one, because that's not realistic. Won't be able to do this for season though, or shall I say the 24/7 mode.
It's turning out to be a good game so far. But like many Smackdown games, you may just get bored of it after a a month or two.
Got this on Friday been rotating between that and Pro Evo all of yesterday, it's a quality game though it seems 24/7 mode is very in-depth and a bit repetitive, and it may well get boring before you master it.
Once you do one year in 24/7, you'll get the same storylines over and over. What they seem to have done is do one storyline as the champ and another one as a contender.
To set the table on fire, you must have full momentum (when your bar is flashing) and then press your finisher button (I'm not sure what it is for 360 [triangle for PS3]) when you're next to the table.
