X-Port Information

An X-Port is a small device you use to connect your PS2 to your PC using the USB ports in front of your PS2 to the back of your PC.
The wire is about 2 meters long and most people have to move their PS2 closer to their PC to make it reach. When you connect the PS2 to the PC, you do not need to plug it into the TV.

Once connected, you insert the X-Port CD into the PS2 and load the X-Port program on your PC (installed using the supplied PC CD).
Once this is done, you can use the PC to explore the files on your PS2 memory card. You can then copy any file from the PS2 memory card to your PC hard disk.
You can download X-Port files [.XPS] including PES2 and WE6:FE option files from a site such as
http://www.showusmiracle.com/
and send it to your memory card. If you want to send an option file to your mem card, it's a good idea to backup your original option file first as it will be over-written.

If you don't want to delete any of your great PES/WE goals, you can send them to your hard disk for storage until you want to check them out again. You can zip up the files to make them smaller and easier to email to people - eg sharing of option files, formations and goals etc.

Option files contain only data which can be edited manually in the games themselves, such as player names, appearances, club kits/flags etc. Nothing to do with patches can be stored on option files and you won't be able to load patch info using the X-Port.
So realistic kits and logos and advertising boards etc are only possible through the use of patches and not X-Port option files.

Different patches have different player rosters so if you saved the option file with Wedoit 3.0, and then play Wendetta, you will notice the national players (eg Spain) play for the clubs they have been replaced with, eg Spurs (they wish!). To stop this happening, you either need to play without loading the option file from the memory card or you have one mem card per patch.

You can get an X-Port from
www.play.com
Use the search option on the left side and type "X-Port".
£17.99 is the best price around.

Having an X-Port can save you from hassle and upset at trying to play PES/WE one day for your PS2 to tell you that your option file is corrupted and you will have to start again. It will save you many hours of editing.

Hopefully this will answer all questions for the use of X-Port.
If not, ask in the X-Port Info thread in the General section and I will update both posts.
