i have been looking forward to forza that much it has me thinking of the time i spent blazing away on gran turismo, man that was an awesome game.

the tracks on forza may be good, bloody good from what i've seen but they can't compare to trial mountain and grand valley.

damn i may just buy a ps3 for this game alone.

I got red ring last night :(

Looks like i'll be out shopping for a new 360 tonight. bastard.

Gutted. i sent mine back via ups and got it back within the week. it sounds a bit fragile tho now when it loads.

can you not send yours back instead of forking out for a new one?

Yeah, so many people are dumb to the fact the warranty never really expires when it comes to the red rings. Someone I know took their broken Xbox 360 to Grainger Games and forked out about £60 for a repair of it, I was just stood in the store thinking "what a complete moron". When I sent my Xbox 360 off to Frankfurt to be repaired (as said above) I received mine back in the same week I think, Monday-Saturday which is immense. And free!

Well from what point does the warranty begin? As I never had the opportunity to register my 360.

It was sent to me as a replacement by an insurance company when I had my flat in Scotland broken into and although it was boxed as if brand new there was no way of registering it anywhere for any kind of warranty to kick in.

It should be fine to be honest, just give Microsoft a ring and say you want to send it off for repairment due to the red rings error. They'll tell you to box it up, UPS will collect it usually the same or next day, then problem solved. I'm not even sure if it's extended warranty or unlimited warranty when it comes to the red lights but I wouldn't worry - as long as the console has the sticker on the back and hasn't been opened at any point.

If memory serves from when mine went the 3 years starts either from date of purchase, or if you don't have that they base it on the date of manufacture (you can find it with the serial no on the back of the 360).

You don't need to register it on Xbox live. I only registered mine after I'd already called to arrange it being fixed and only then so I could track it's progress.

Although I do actually prefer the 360, especially the controller and the online service, I'd listen to Miggy and Dragonfly, Ads. If you've got a spare £100 that is, otherwise you might as well just buy an arcade console and stick your old harddrive in.

Well I've managed to sort it lads, kind of. I shelled out on an Elite, £199.99 plus Tiger Woods 10 and Fight Night 4 (both of which are now in the local rag for £25 a pop) and I registered the serial number of my broken one on Xbox.com and they're repairing it free of charge, when that returns I'll sell it on and hopefully that means I've upgraded to an Elite for a very small price.

You bought that in GAME, yes? I was in today and was going to get that offer but decided to go for the Call of Duty 120GB bundle. I was actually suprised that they had good offers as theyre usualy miserable bastards.

No it was in Gamestation mate, they've got very similar offers though to be honest.

My mate's getting the £239.99 deal. That's a solid offer. We're having a de-PS2 ceremony as he still plays his games on that.
