Sminky, is Mirror's Edge a good game at all? I've thought about buying it in the past but the fact that you can buy it for such a low price has made me think there is a major flaw with the game, which is strange as the reviews seemed mainly positive.

Mike I absolutely loved Mirrors Edge. Its a lot of fun to play and the whole styling of the game is very very cool. I bought it for a tenner and although I've completed it, I'll never trade it in.

The only grumbles are that the indoor levels aren't as fun as the outdoor levels and the checkpoints are quite a distance apart meaning if you die you can be stuck with a lot to do. Over. And. Over. Again.

Buy it mate, its well worth ten quid.

I will probably get it eventually but at the moment I have too many games that I need to start/complete such as Mafia II, Enslaved, Splatterhouse, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, Assassins Creed 1 & 2, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and I'd like to go back and finish off the Lost game at some point but doubt I ever will. It's one of the worst games I've ever played.

I echo the sentiment that Mirror's Edge is a great game. It's quite old, which is why it's so cheap. My main gripe is that it is quite short, but if you're the sort of person who wants to perfect all the time trials etc, that certainly adds a lot more to the game.

Phatmann - Did you actually BUY the Lost game? I got it as part of the deal that came when I bought my ps3. I was a big Lost fan and still struggled to beat the game. I pity you if you actually spent your hard earned cash on it.

Phatmann there is a demo of mirrors edge on PS2, give it a try. I really enjoyed it and wished I picked it up when I saw it for a fiver. I'll get it eventually.

Yeah, I'll probably pick up Mirror's Edge sometime soon in fact since I don't really have any games to play for the Xbox right now except Black Ops. I'm contemplating Sims 3 since it's a single player game really that I can relax to.

Mirrors Edge is great, and especially worth it now that it's a lot cheaper. I got Sims 3 the other day and it's tricky at first but I should think it will get a lot easier the more I play it. I love the idea of having traits and lifetime wishes.

I got Bayonetta the other day also and i'm loving it so far. I've got so many games to go through though, Dragon Age (1 more time before DA: 2 comes out), finishing Mass Effect (2 more runs to go, 1 on hardcore, 1 on insanity), Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Wolfenstein, Lost Planet, Dead Space, along with finishing up Borderlands and Black Ops. With DA: 2 coming out relatively soon, it will be tough finishing them all.

Addictive. I'd advise creating more than one sim in your household though as it takes up most of the in game day just carrying out the basic errands. You need a sim to do this while the other goes to work and earns the money. Kind of realistic I suppose.

Such an underrated game. I can't think of anything else like this on the market either.

Ali, I bought the game second hand from ebay for about a fiver and I still feel the seller got a great deal. Mirror's Edge was £8.75 last night on Amazon but appears to have gone up to £9.85 now so I will just wait for it to drop in price again, which I'm sure will be soon. At one point it was down to £6.93!

I paid a tenner for it in June last year from my local BlockBuster video, to be honest the prices you quoted are still a steal even if not as low as £6.93.

That is true but since it's not a priority for me right now as I have so many games that I've not got round to even starting at the moment, I have the luxury of sitting back and waiting for it to drop down to as low a price as possible. I'm just annoyed that I didn't plum for it back when it was under £7.

I'm pretty bored with gaming at the moment, waiting for something to really hook me. I'd like to see a new Hitman released. Its an excellent franchise and a new installment is long overdue.

Seen it for either £4 or £5 in gamestation today.

I know the feeling. Other than Fable3, GT5 & Fallout NV, there hasn't really been much of late to cause any real interest for me.

Think the next thing I am really looking forward to is TD Unlimited 2.

It's always quiet start of the year.

Looking forward to Marvel vs Capcom 3 FOTW myself.

Mirror's Edge is a game you either love or hate. Damn short (second run through was about 4-5 hours), crap story, and the gunplay is naff but avoidable. Everything else is great however. The first person parkour is incorporated magnificently and thrilling when you really get into the flow. Nothing is particularly tricky, even on hard difficulty, as you should be looking to avoid confrontation with cops at all times.

Definitely worth a fiver. Disappointed there's been no sequel announced as it certainly has potential.

Indeed. Considering the huge leaps between the first two Assassin's Creed games, and the first two Uncharted games, in terms of quality... there is a lot of potential in a ME sequel.

Rumours persist that Mirrors Edge 2 is in development. Then they said that about Hitman and I've been waiting for bloody years for that.

I heard rumours that it's supposed to be a trilogy, but, as you say Sminky, the second one seems to have been in development for ages, so I don't know if we'll ever see it. I've always thought the first one would make a half-decent movie tbh.

I can't see how they could squeeze a trilogy out of it, its not exactly got the storyline of Assassins Creed. I think they should make a sequel but leave it there.

The sequel needs better online options, it would be great to race against a group of people instead of the rubbish time trials you get currently on Mirrors Edge.
