Just been watching some of the after-match interviews from the Brook v Hatton fight. Hatton got comfortably beaten on the night, but in the interview it looks like he was on the end of a gang beating!
Also had to laugh when listening, there's something inherently funny about people who partake in such a 'macho' sport having high pitch voices and speech impediments.

Yeah, Brook does sound a bit gay when he talks. A great win for him last week over Hatton, was never out of his comfort zone really during the fight.

Just been watching the Irish Middleweights Prizefighter. O'Kane won in the end, but after a shite ref effectively spoiled the final by letting O'Kane get away with everything and nagging JJ McDonagh to distraction.
Just the last fight to go now, McCloskey v DeMarcus Corley. Should be an interesting fight. Chances are It'll go to points, but McCloskey might decide to come out for a brawl... Good month for fights, really looking forward to the Froch fight near the end of the month, from what I've seen of Lucian Bute, he's not only a nice bloke, but a bloody good technical boxer. Allied to that being a tall southpaw, think Froch really has his work cut out. Froch will need to use his power in the first few rounds to shake Bute, otherwise I think Bute will just wear him down with a stoppage late on. Hope Froch wins though, enjoy watching his fights, a good entertainer.

I didn't notice a boxing thread was around.
Mayweather vs Cotto tonight. Mayweather will box tonight and make millions. Then he goes into prison June 1st for a jail sentence for domestic abuse - slapping around his ho. This fight shouldn't take place. If someone is found guilty of domestic abuse in the NBA, MLB, NFL or any other american sports they are banned from that sport. What a sick sports business boxing is. |

That's why I tend towards the UK scene and the new wave of British fighters. Not been ruined by money,

Well, that was a let down. McCloskey was out boxed. Seemed too tentative, at time almost nervy. Bad nose bleed in the 2nd that was never really got under control wouldn't have helped the breathing, but regardless, McCloskey just didn't show on the night. He has power, but never used it. Ah well.

There are a small number of fighters that could beat Pretty Boy (awesome nickname for someone that's about to go to jail), and Miguel Cotto is one of them.
I don't expect him to, just saying he can.

Haye v Chisora's happening then. Been sanctioned by the Luxembourg Boxing Federation, as the British wouldn't as both have had their licences taken off of them.
Haye will destroy him ![]() |

No one gives a rat's arse if these two cunts are fighting. They are a disgrace to their profession and quite frankly embarrassments and that press conference at that shithole was laughable.

Not shocked someone has agreed to sanction this though. There is no doubt that people will pay to see this, someone, somewhere will make a tidy profit.

![]() Seriously though, Froch surpassed my expectations. I know he's good, I know he can bang, but I really didn't expect Bute to get blown away so easily! Bute's camp are putting it partly down to the early cut, but had the decency to admit that the stoppage was necessary. Will be really interesting to see if Bute takes up the re-match clause, on that performance tonight Bute would be mad to try again, unless he can work on his chin... Well done Froch, fantastic performance for one of the best British boxers around at the moment.

Bute's mega overrated. Who's he beaten? Anyone who gets to 30 wins with only one big name on the list is a dodger.

Okay, so Bute has never fought anyone of Froch's calibre, that said, he's still a technically competent southpaw, big & with a decent range. As I said before Froch needed to come out hard and fast, if it got drawn into a long fight then it could have been very different.

Oh yeah, not saying he's not a very good fighter - but he is overrated. The super middle division has been great over the past five years, and he's yet to prove himself at the top of it.
Be interesting to see what Bute does next, will he tangle with Ward/Kessler/Pavlik or will he retreat back into the comfort zone of beating up nobodies in his adopted homeland?
