Actually, I understood your point. Take a look at what I said in the last sentence. I will judge when I play the game, like I always do. But I posted that because these so called "radical changes" are nothing more but natural evolutions of the previous' games' features.

So bullet time is a natural evolution from a game where gun play was never a key component? makes sense.
Your a very optimistic individual but the fact is there is just as much of a chance of this being wank as there is it being good.

Remember that there are stealth features. The biggest one is the cover system and the ability to pin point sound (with improved guards, footsteps, talking, etc..) better. These are just a few features that evolved from the stealth aspect of the game.

I hope they keep the notoriety element of the game where, if you make too much noise in one mission, people will be more aware of you for the next.

![]() Course it bloody well was! That was the whole point, to assassinate your target without anyone realising, or at least realising it was you! The replay value was in finding new and innovative ways of offing the target.

Not that only. I guess I should have clarified that. Hitman was not just about stealth, it was about replay value where the player decided what to do and how to approach it using any means necessary. The player dictates the pace and methods. But the main aim after each mission is to get a Silent Assassin rating meaning you have to be a ghost.
So even though that is the way to portray 47 (the silent assassin way), the game still had various elements that classy it as a free game where stealth is the main option, but you have everything you need for other vastly different runs. If this wasn't the case then why are there guns without silencer? Why were there assault rifles and WMD weapons? Why was there accidents staged for other non target npc's? Ask any developer and they tell you the same thing man. I have been playing Hitman since the beginning. ![]()

As have I and I can confidently say that to eschew stealth was pointless, resulting in either a swift demise or to have such a negative effect on future missions as to spoil a goodly part of the fun.

Read an excellent piece in PSM re: this title and it has somewhat restored my hope on this being a top notch addition to the series. Granted there is more action in this than previous but the segment on the stealth options and playing as a silent assassin sound beaucoup enjoyable.

I don't know why there's this idea that Absolution has more action than the previous games. Hitman was and will always be about player choice and replay ability where the main aim is to get a silent assassin rating. But it can be played however the player decides and that's what gives it all that replay ability boost.
Absolution will be no different. Only that it enhances what the previous games started. It's still about player choice where the main aim is to get a silent assassin in every mission. So it's still the same game. BTW the Chinatown gameplay at E3 pretty much confirms what i said about it. And that BTW, made me extremely happy.

Yes, true Hunter, but the thing is that Hitman always started it's marketing campaign with action oriented trailers and then later on the road, they release a stealth trailer.
![]() I think that many people just judge way too quick.

I can't really remember the order in which trailers are released for Hitman, but I do feel like they shot themselves in the foot a little regarding the heavy-action trailer release.
Nearly everyone I imagine plays Hitman for stealth reasons, so you'd think they'd follow up on their reputation and release a trailer that will make everyone want to play the game... I don't see much positive in releasing a trailer that's quite the opposite intention of the game series itself?

The thing is that Hitman was always marketed this way because let's face it, stealth trailers don't generate as much hype as action ones, even if the game's aim is to be a silent assassin.
I know, it sucks but it's the way things are.Absolution followed the same marketing campaign with action trailers at first and now, they released the Chinatown gameplay which shows various stealth and sandbox elements from the game. It's IO's marketing strategy for Hitman to release the action trailers first and then proceed onto stealth ones. For Absolution, they already released the Chinatown gameplay which as I said, was mostly stealth and now I believe that they will release at least 1 stealth trailer. But like the other Hitman games, these stealth trailer will come before the game is released. I just hope it does well because no game in the world focuses so much on replay value. ![]()

Not really, people fortunate enough to play early playable content arrived at that deduction from what was presented before them. It's hard not to. Until the finished product is available its not possible to say either way but from what I've read, general consensus is that combat will not only be different but certainly more important in this game. The hive mind mentality has been removed, players now have the option to kill NPC's and still get a silent assassin rating.

No man, that info is wrong. Actually to get a silent assassin rating in Absolution you need to kill the target only and be a ghost by not touching anyone else. It's all said in the E3 developer interviews.
Don't worry, Absolution has Hitman written all over it and it follows the same procedure.
