The Giroud transfer looks like all but a done deal. Less sure on the M'Vila one. In the Q&A he did a few weeks back, Gazidis made it pretty clear that we don't want anything similar to the abomination of last summer, so it would look like we won't be as pedantic over money as in previous summer, in order to get the transfers done asap.

He'll get a hell of a lot more opportunities than Chamakh. Maybe because he can actually score goals.

Lets not get too carried away, Chamakh was alright in France because technically there is very little wrong with his game. Where he got found out was the physicality of the Premier League, he didn't look like he could cope with how frenetic it was. In France he was used to more direct play at Bordeaux, slightly different at Arsenal.

Looking at Giroud though, he's a stocky unit, he looks strong enough to handle the rigours of a Premier League season.

Agreed. Like I said about M'Villa, I'm not going to get too excited about him, until he starts playing well for us. Until then, I just regard him as a good Ligue 1 player with a lot of potential.

Chamakh has looked ridiculous anytime the ball is at his feet. His touch is awful. The only time he has ever looked a threat is when the ball is in the air.
