![]() http://www.amazon.de/Alfred-Hitchcoc...brcforumsde-21 Wow. Hopefully the US will get something similar. And cheaper. |

PlanetAxel declared bankrupt and gone. Rats bollocks. Essentially leaves Movietyme now, who are usually more expensive and not as fast.
I have Bullhead on the way and they appear to have initiated a refund for High Noon. |

Tragic news. Planetaxel was the best place to import anime cheaply. I haven't used it as much recently, but my fag periods come and go, now I have nowhere to turn to.

Amazon are absolute cunts. For some reason they've decided to send my parcel via DPD but I wasn't in to collect it so I've got a calling card from them. Unfortunately it seems I can't re-arrange delivery or change the delivery address as that comes at an extra charge:
"Amazon provides its customers with an Upgraded service, therefore, for Amazon customers, this Upgrade option is not applicable. Because Amazon has already paid for delivery, we do not charge additional fees for redelivery to Amazon customers." When I try to change the delivery address it says I have to contact Amazon but I don't hold much hope in them sorting it out any time soon. I've only ordered a standard bluray for fuck sake. |

If anyone wants the Iron Man Play steelbook pre-order NOW - according to Play's twitter account stock is 'perilously low'. The Marvel steelbooks always do well.
Just to add we're also getting the Hitchcock (Masterpiece) Collection on 1st October. £112. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Alfred-Hitch...A3P5ROKL5A1OLE Same package as the German one, with the following films: Rope Rear Window The Trouble with Harry The Man Who Knew Too Much Vertigo Psycho The Birds Marnie Torn Curtain Topaz Frenzy Family Plot Most of his other major ones from that period are owned by Warner, who are lagging behind at this point. I suspect this picture is more accurate because it's unlikely North by Northwest or The 39 Steps would feature in a Universal set: ![]() UPDATE: The US release includes North by Northwest and has very different packaging: |

Ok, for some reason when we were discussing this the image I was seeing was something akin to this wthout most of the text:
http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-JASIcWpltZ..._Poster_MM.jpg I assume the cache hadn't been updated, so I was still seeing the placeholder image. Now that I see the proper image I can understand why you were referring to it as "Manga style" it is indeed pretty shit.

Righto.
More Hitchcock films coming from Warner. They'll have his whole post 1939-catalogue on Blu-ray before too long. I thought 2012 in Blu-ray would be Spielberg's year but the fat bald cunt has him beat. ![]() ![]() http://www1.picturepush.com/photo/a/...es-release.png |

Looking at blu-ray.com it seems a lot of the US Warner Bros. blu rays are region free, is that correct? I will be buying both if they are only released in the US and are not region locked.

You'll be fine with these; they'll be region free.
Apparently the Basket Case Trilogy will be the next steelbook release from Second Sight. Re-Animator may follow, which would be most welcome. |

Ordered this FNAC digibook since it wasn't released in the US in this packaging and I don't have the film yet. Will go well with the US digibook of the 30s version.

Looks like I was too slow for the Iron Man steelbooks, as Play aren't even displaying them anymore. I can see they've already been put on eBay for £22 and more.

With the demise of Axel I re-ordered High Noon through ImportCDs, and added this to the order. £22 for both is very reasonable:

If anyone is interested in buying the King of New York steelbook, Arrow are shipping it with a free copy of Erik the Viking if you buy through their site: http://www.arrowfilms.co.uk/index.php?c=y&tle_id=607&v=
It's only £13 in total which is a good deal. |

Number 1500 (DVDs + blurays):
Hit & Miss on bluray. I also got a 3-in-1 DVD set containing Dazed & Confused, How High and Half Baked so either could really be considered #1500. Last few days I have bought quite a few DVDs/blurays: Curb Your Enthusiasm Season 8, Lars von Trier's The Kingdom I & II, Midnight Run, Timecrimes, Dead Ringers, Scars of Dracula, Lust Caution, The Baader Meinhof Complex, Cabaret and The Calamari Wrestler on DVD and The Bridge on the River Kwai, Borgen Series 1, The Muppets and Tower Heist on bluray. I've also ordered Bleeder on DVD and Thelma & Louise on bluray as well as pre-ordering that Classic Monsters boxset on bluray. ![]() |
