That's poor by England. Playing against 10 men for so long as well. The penalty decision that got the Greek keeper sent off is definitely one of the worst decisions you will ever.......ever see. Absolutely embarassing. Justice was done when we missed anyway.

Is this meant to make up for Blattini hating us for the past million years? FIFA genuinely has no credibility as a world governing body anymore.

England vs Italy on Wednesday. Here's England's squad for the friendly:
Goalkeepers: Joe Hart (Manchester City), Jack Butland (Birmingham City), John Ruddy (Norwich City). Defenders: Leighton Baines (Everton), Ryan Bertrand (Chelsea), Gary Cahill (Chelsea), Steven Caulker (Tottenham Hotspur), Phil Jagielka (Everton), Kyle Walker (Tottenham Hotspur). Midfielders: Michael Carrick (Manchester United), Tom Cleverley (Manchester United), Frank Lampard (Chelsea), Adam Johnson (Manchester City), Jake Livermore (Tottenham Hotspur), James Milner (Manchester City), Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (Arsenal), Jack Rodwell (Everton), Ashley Young (Manchester United). Forwards: Andy Carroll (Liverpool), Jermain Defoe (Tottenham Hotspur), Daniel Sturridge (Chelsea), Theo Walcott (Arsenal). http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19199402 Very youthful side.

A very poor side.
Half the players can't get a regular place in their respective clubs... and what the hell is Lampard still doing in there?

He couldn't put many big names in, otherwise the clubs would be kicking off. It's a nonegivesashit game anyway. We'll probably beat them with a really fluent attacking display now.
EDIT - Yeah, pretty much what Donald says. No one cares, we're all focused on the start of the league, all it's going to do is piss people off.

I know it's only for this one game, but there's a worrying lack of right-backs in the squad (Kyle Walker's the only guy who's natural position is right-back). EDIT: I agree, it's a joke.

I didn't watch the game last night but caught the highlights later on and I must say I was impressed with Defoes finish. A good strike and you could tell he wanted to hit it straight away. OK the keeper was a bit suspect but the goal was a good one.
The problem I have with him though is that you see this and think why the hell can't he do it more often. He could easily be kept as our main attacker for the new season then go on a goal drought for 8 or 9 games. He did OK last time out, 17 I think but you can never be fully confident he will keep it up. |

Adam Johnson was a man on a mission last night - on some occasions, his touch was a little heavy, and his fitness dropped drastically towards the end of the game, but he's hardly played in the last 6 months for Man City, so understandable really.
Hope, for the sake of his club career, that he gets a move somewhere else, so he can start week in week out, as he is an exciting player to watch.

I'd have him at Spurs. He's wasted at City if they don't play him.

Johnson is overrated by non City fans and the media. The problem is, he's a highlights, "MOTD player", where people will see the odd goal, or bit of skill, and think he's brilliant, but not see the rest of the game where he does very little. A great example was Blackburn away last season, scored a great goal, but that was the only real thing of note he did, he was actually poor in that game. He's talented, but inconsistent, and needs to do more when he's playing.

If we hadn't signed Cazorla I would've taken him at Arsenal.
