Excellent player, I think he'll do well. Could also spell the end for Barton. Which is nice.

QPR really ought to remember the 25-man rule, though.

As for Borini, I really liked him. Treated pretty shabbily by Ancelotti's regime, if I remember correctly, so him getting released is kind of a red herring. Chelsea eventually offered him a deal, but he turned it down and moved on. I'm sure Joel can confirm or correct this...

9 goals in 24 for Roma, excellent potential and got his first cap already. £11m is pretty reasonable, given the wedge Liverpool have spent on far lesser pedigrees. Plus Rodgers had him at Swansea where he scored well, and possibly during his time at Chelsea too.

Latest on Thiago Silva and Ibrahimovic to PSG is that Milan will receive €65m plus a possible further €9m in bonuses. That €65m is made up of €45m for Thiago Silva and €20m for Ibrahimovic. Mino Raiola is in the latest round of talks with Leonardo; Ibrahimovic has reportedly requested €12m per season with a further €3m per season in bonuses.

We are reportedly moving for Tevez this morning (€20m bid, offer of €6m in wages) with Dzeko as our backup plan. I really can't see City accepting less than €25m for Tevez.

Away from that, Mattia Destro (Siena/Genoa) is set for Roma.

I'm not too sure of the general opinion but I can give you mine which is that I would sign him immediately if I were at Milan because I can see the potential and believe he'll be an excellent player.

There was, during his time at Inter, a feeling he had regressed as a player but he was overhyped in the first place ("the new Paolo Maldini") and he's only what...21?

Yeah I think he is only 21 not that long turned after.

He obviously lost his way a little at Inter which is why we managed to snap him up for such a decent price.

I also think he could even play further up the pitch later on in his career (started out as a striker I think anyway), a bit like how Gareth Bale is now a winger.

He's brilliant on the ball and last year was a big learning curve for him, one which he passed with flying colours. A couple of games he was caught out of position a few times which is to be expected, but he seems to be constantly learning and improving with every game.

Ecstatic that he is ours and I hope that he is for years to come.

The amusing search by Michael Owen for a new club foolish enough to take him, has taken a new twist.

Does Owen ever look in the mirror? Or if he does have a look, will he see a fresh faced 18 year old weaving stylishly through an Argentinian defence?

As opposed to a washed up striker, who had all the ability but no real love or commitment to his various clubs.

There must be something in the fact that even the average Liverpool fan has no time for him, even though he knocked in well over 100 goals for them. They also perceive him as somebody more bothered about playing for England rather than his club who paid his wages.

He’s totally wasted his career and as for his belief that he can, “still bang them in at the top level…proved that nearly every time I played for Manchester United”….only five Premier League goals in thirty one appearances over three years would suggest otherwise.

Michael Owen’s past has finally caught up with him and I doubt whether there will be much sympathy for him in the north east, or anywhere else for that matter.

Adrian Lopez has a £15m buy-out clause? He's got great feet and I wouldn't mind him at Arsenal. I wouldn't know how he would fit in, though, unless we play more 4231 and less 433.
