Indeed. Got 7-a-side tonight, but it'll most likely actually be 6-a-side, but on a 7s pitch. Meaning...more running, or alternatively, less running and more space to...walk into.

7-a-side pitch, but with a 5-a-side goal. It's like a sin. Awful.

Well, I've got training tonight and it's been raining all day. That's even worse!

Screw you and your loungin - I've been sat by a window all week with the sun beating through it, meanwhile the air con is broke and no-one knows where the key to unlock the windows is.

Sweating like a dyslexic on Countdown.

Wasn't too bad in the end. Dropped to about 23 degrees, so my usual Dean 'run around like a mentalist but can't do shit' Whitehead game wasn't heavily affected.

Going for a run tonight. Not sure whether I should post this in here or the Sunshine Fanny thread, as my eyes will peeled...

Our game did indeed end up being something like 5 vs. 6, or 6 vs. 6 (I can't remember), but on a 7s pitch. Just awful since there's more room to play in, and thus more running involved as opposed to a good tight passing game. Not sure whether it was the weather, the space, or my body - or all three, but I was expecting to Muamba it on the pitch.

It's not even the heat that bothers me, purely the humidity. It's just a sneaky bitch, and makes sleeping incredibly difficult I find.

I've just signed up with a local running club and one of their routes is a three mile run through a local park. I already run slightly longer than this distance as part of my training/workout but dont time myself exactly, I'd say roughly twenty minutes or more but the club record for this 3 miles is 15 minutes.

The run I am aiming for is three weeks on Saturday and I am going to up my pace running in the meantime in an attempt to get as close as possible to this time, being a bit competitive.

I dont want to make too much of a hobby out of it as weights are still my main priority and I only run as a form of cardio, not to lose muscle mass.

Train 2/3 times a week now with a local Athletics club, been going a few weeks now and enjoying it thus far. Invested in a pair of 'spikes' which are helping when running across fields which we do on a regular basis, and will undoubtedly become useful come the summer when we take to the track. It's all endurance training in the winter so I've joined at the right time. Should be competiting in domestic competitions in a month or so once I've paid my annual subscription and got my registration to England Athletics all sorted.

Bring it on!

And speaking of gym, off there in an hour or so for a weights session. Anyone else been to the gym today?

I've started "lifting" again, although given the fact I dislocated my elbow, I have been told by my physio that I can lift no heavier than 3kg per hand. Better than nothing I suppose, and I would rather not risk further injury. I've already waited so long to get my range of motion back (my arm was completely locked into the bent position for the first two weeks), so I'll happily wait 5 weeks until I can begin the major compound exercises again.

Smashed shoulders earlier, been experimenting with drop sets to shake things up a bit & keep my muscles guessing, really gives a mad pump and amazing DOMS - was sweating like Fritzl on Grand Designs. Anyone who's looking for a decent variation in weights training should definitely look into incoperating drop-setting now and then, burnt me out so quickly!

For those not so in the know, here's a decent article on the different types of drop sets out there:

http://www.muscleandstrength.com/art...-building.html

I mostly use the wide set or tripe if I'm on my last excercise and really just want to burn out!

Recently been inspired to start eating super clean too (minus weekends), & I'm currently preparing to bulk for the winter which I'll probably do around mid October. Really want to do it as clean as possible but I know a little bit of fat gain is basically inevitable so it's just damage limitations I guess, I get a good amount of cardio with football so that'll do me. Eating good really isn't as hard as I thought it'd be, cheat now & again but generally I'm not very tempted at all - and I'm completely put off by fizzy drinks nowadays (unless they are dilluted with alcohol of course ).

Need to tailor a realistic workout schedule for that too, think I'll switch things up completely and maybe take it out of my comfort zone a bit. It'll be a 3/4 day split though of some kind.

I've done this a little too, more by accident than anything. Got fed up of eating sandwiches for lunch in the office so I have been preparing a few things for variety. They turned out to be pretty healthy as there is a lot of raw veg and beans/pulses getting used. Homemade soup is an awesome way of eating pretty healthily in the winter too.

Getting so innate now that I found myself enjoying a vodka and diet tonic the other weekend which is bang wrong.

What are your goals?
They are just starting a £3 million rennovation, so I don't know what will be included in that - didn't think to look at their website! But the gym is going to double in size, and it's decent now.

My goal is become fitter, faster and stronger. I've already got a Football Club lined up that I used to train with, so just getting into their team and performing as best I can in that arena.

Long term, I want to go back to Llanharan ABC. It's small boxing club down the road from me, and it's always been my second favourite sport after football. That and Cricket, but there's plenty of time for that, seeing that you can play it alot at a much grander age that the other two.

It really is, man! Tried getting away with vodka & soda, here - it just doesn't fly when doing rounds.

How's everyone's progress going? Think I'm steadily getting stronger. Completely did a 180 since my last post though, & am not too concerned with 'bulking' as I am with making lean gains now; as I don't think I'm too far off the size I want to be. Got some new supplements recently too, main one being casein, so that's a bit of motivation to keep going at it at the moment too as I've had a little slump recently.

Back and triceps tonight. Fun fun.
