tips for playing online.

Hey guys, first post so be nice :-)

Just getting in to the online game play but what do u suggest is the most important think to improve to be a better online player? Skills and tricks, formations, defending?

2 Points:

1: Defending right and with patient souvereignity which means waiting for the right moment to tackle and wisely close open, useful for the opponent space
2. Attacking right and with a sharp eye for the situation which means playing fast and risky passes to crumble the light defense of the opponent or playing safe and slow towards the opponents box, trying to lighten up his heavy defense by making him try to chase you down until you find a hole. Then switch back to fast and risky...

How am i a prick? Maybe you aren't good and don't know how to play online.

This dude knows somewhat how to play. You should follow my advice though. Pick a system, format it to your playing style, and play to your strengths. In regards to the weaknesses, you should address them accordingly depending on the opponent. For example, if your back four are slow and can't get the ball, try fouling the opponent. Don't try to chase him if your CB are slow and will never get there 'cleanly'. I got top 800 in the world, so i am very, very good.

Find a formation that you like, and apply it to the team you use. You can adjust the player support, defensive line, pressing, etc. to suit your style of play.

Also, try out various feints on the training pitch to find a few that work for you. I only use 2, and they work well enough that I don't need to link any others.

Use R2(press + hold + direction), when you're on the ball, to work spaces to make passes around the defender. You may win more free kicks by using R2 to dribble at slow speeds.

As mentioned above, practice defending. It's difficult, even more so when you play online, but try to find patterns in your opponent's play that you can exploit.

Also, if you're getting beat, take notes on what your opponent is doing and try to learn something by watching them. Even when you get beat by a wide margin, at least you can take a tip or trick off of your opponent to use in future matches.
