[MAC] Does anyone have PES 2012 natively running on a Mac?

I was happy playing PES 2012 on my MBP natively with Lion. Arguably, I ran the Mountain Lion update and now I'm not happy. Why? PES NOT WORKING.

Seems that 3D Rendering is the main issue. The game enters as usual, and you can browse thru all non-3D areas. BUT, then you want to play... and the game crashes. No message displayed. No window to check for logs.

Is anyone in this room with the same issue? Is anyone capable of solving this mystery?

Cheers!

- I have tried Repair Permissions (Command-R right after pressing power button, then Repair Disk, then Verify/Repair Disk Permissions) with no luck.
- Also tried to reset the PRAM/NVRAM (Command-Option-P-R simultaneously right after pressing power button).
- Tried SMC Reset (Command-Option-Shift simultaneously right after pressing power button).

I'm guessing it is something to do with the video card driver compatibility. Mountain Lion must have updated it to a version with bugs. Have no idea how to test this with another tool.

Which iteration of the MBP do you have? Does it only have integrated graphics (I doubt it)?

EDIT: Gah, nevermind. None of the MBP models have only integrated graphics, I'm thinking of the Air.

Right, I've just checked briefly and there are widespread reports of graphics performance decreasing with the Mountain Lion update. I assume it is linked to that.

MacBookPro9,1
15-inch, Mid 2012

Intel HD Graphics 4000 384 MB graphics (Integrated) and a NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 512 MB.

You give me a hint asking me this... Could the system be using the HD Graphics instead of the NVIDIA for 3D graphics? Is there any software to check this?

I've updated my post now - there are lots of reports of Mountain Lion causing graphics problems and decreased performance. I would assume this is what has happened to you. That said, checking that it is switching over to the graphics card would be useful just in case. I can't stand Apple or their hardware so the best I can do is this: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4152

Nice one. It seems that I have switched to Intel HD 4000. I already switched to NVIDIA, but it keeps crashing.

Will try again repairing permissions and stuff with the NVIDIA always on. Maybe that permission "CoreGraphics.framework" I've seen while repairing will adapt to this last switch.

Thanks! Will keep you posted.

OK. No luck. And those cheeky basterds from Apple Forums keeps on trolling.

I think there must be an answer. Will keep looking for more feedback.

Cheers!

Is this you?

I've seen another thread on there too but that only has one response.

To be honest, I'm not so sure you're going to be able to sort this one out and although I'm guessing here, I would expect there to be a good chance of you suffering the same problem with PES 2013.

Yes, that's me.

I believe that there must be an update from Apple. It's a hardware thing, positive. If not, the game would not start at all. At least that happened to me with other games.

Cheers!

Heh, good luck with that. You might end up waiting for the next OS update. If so, that could be next July

Touché.

I think that the best would be FORMAT C:\... but there's no such thing.

That takes me back to the early 1990s. Spending hours changing the autoexec.bat and config.sys to try and squeeze enough conventional memory out of DOS so that you could play the new game you've already had to sit impatiently through the installation of.

I was more an Arcade boy. Waiting in the line to play Mortal Kombat or Super Sidekicks or Football Champ...

Now, with all the technology available I can't even 'Insert Coins' on my MBP to Be a Legend on my PES. Bummer.
