Hi Vinnie and Paul.

Let me first say that I'm using your converter a lot and I LIKE IT! It's really really great!

I only have one thing i thought i'd mention. The Defence stat seems to be very low most of the times. Not only with Attackers. but also with CB's. Do you know of this problem? Really it's not a big problem when the player also is on PSD cuz i use the attack and defence stats from there. But when the player isn't on PSD it becomes a problem. Maybe you could have a look at this? Ormaybe i'm just bitching about a problem that really can't be sorted...

Greetings guys!

Luuk,

As we've said before the convertor is a guide more than a straight converter, however i noticed a few things when using it myself.

For example, kicking power and strength are lower when converted than i would expect from looking solely at the FM stats. Anyway, I'm sure Paul will agree but ANYTHING can be fixed and refined.

The secret of the converter is that it uses raw data from the entries the user inputs when using FM. Essentially the converter can be used to make say, yourself that's, the beauty of it! Score yourself against FM and away you go

Because it is raw data, that 'input' data can be manipulated anyway the user sees fit. At the same time the calculations can be manipulated to give us any 'output' data we see fit as well as just being a guide.

I hope you understand what I mean?!

I will be looking at the converter at some point to refine it! Now that we have a better understanding of the new stats in PES and how they dictate a player's behaviour / skills. Also the new genie scout has been altered slightly from last year which is what the converter was designed to use. Therefore, I am suggesting that some of us come together, not just myself and Paul to discuss who we make it work more appropriately, for PES2013.

I create lots of teams and players each year as does Paul in his OFs. Luuk, you have shown an excellent understanding of the PES world (stats, formations etc) I think we perhaps need one or two more who have a knowledge of creating players, a) for realism, not just for the hell of it and b) are brave and sensible enough to say 'actually I think this guy is too good' or 'that guy isn't good enough'.

I'm thinking someone like Goalgerd, or Glen, or the ideal being chimps-with-quiffs, the converter this year at least, opposes what he has been doing with player stats in the file he's been involved in!

Perhaps we could do it in a closed thread of some sort? I'm not sure what the rules say about this!?

Whatever happens, the next converter will need longer, more extensive and deliberately targeted testing to iron this kind of thing out.

I had some spare time and was studying the ratings from FM. And i found something strange.

I was trying to understand the different colors used.

red = bad
blue = no good
yellow = average
orange = good
green = Very good

That one is obvious.

The strange thing is that sometimes for a player 18 is green and sometimes its orange.

For example Ji-Sung Park has a imp. matches rating of 17 and it's green
Messi has a imp. matches rating of 18 and that one is orange??

I don't understand this. Anyone knows more about this?

The reason I looked at this is to see if there can be a connection between the colors used in PES.

I think its just a bug in Genie Scout that means sometimes the colours are wrong, although it could also be position dependant. Most likely a bug though

Yeah it would be good, but I dont know how to do it Maybe we could try saving it in Excel as a 97-2003 worksheet then it should work with open office. The other option for you Eisuke is to use the older converter that I made using the Ortegaz file as a base as I know that works with open office.

**edit**

I saved the file as a 97-2003 worksheet, give it a try Eisuke & if it works I will add the link to the 1st post. I'm not confident as it did give me a few errors when I saved it http://www.4shared.com/office/igCZIP...onversion.html

It seems, that it works, but i can't test it.
I have downloaded the new Genie Scout 12 and now the GS has a problem with the banner, so he opens over 1000 IE windows and my Netbook "dies".
Damn! A higher force don't let me work with the Converter & Genie Scout.

Microsoft Excel for the newer one, but the older one should work with any program that can open Excel files such as Open Office
