The Master League Experiences Thread

I didn't want to feed my addiction, but who cares?

Just finished my 2nd season with default Pescara. Won Serie A by 6 points (Roma in second), eliminated in semi finals of TIM Cup by Fiorentina (never managed not to lose against them). July arrives and what a month it was!

In two years my spending budget increased from €1.5m to €35m. I've always wanted to increase the number of italian youngsters, but even if I had the money their clubs wouldn't sell. They asked me €26m for a €7m rated Odegaard!

Anyway, enough talking for now. Here are the pics:

Current lineup is like this. Martial for €8.5m, De Sciglio for €8m, Alessio for €14m, Fischer was transfer listed (strange...) and replaced Cuenca (Fischer was around €9m, Cuenca went for €10m. I liked him a lot, but his age...). Bellerin is an experiment (a €5m one), Denis Suárez and Andersen required some good 10 attempts for the clubs to sell them (despite having three bars in chance of signing). Romagna is a real star, perfect partner for Romagnoli.

5 regens so far: Buffon, De Sanctis, Bianco, Albácar and Amauri, all from the youth team. Waiting on Quaresma...

Some statistics...
Spoiler:
@Ali Just look at him... So young, such soft skin...

Or even better...

At last, the board wasn't happy...

Parkinfed has stepped out of the darkness into slightly less darkness

Did I read it right, you got nice ~72 rated players all from YOUR youth team???? Can this be true???

Also, nice post.

Vischer, Neves, S. Coutinho (formerly Minandinho)..... no change there then.

Is it easy to sign good young players then? Marital/Fischer couldn't have been cheap!

No, it isn't. Martial was transfer listed (somehow), same with Fischer. Andersen and Denis were much, MUCH harder. I tried at least ten times, they always refused. Until they didn't, and I pressed the trigger. Pirlo was listed and they asked 50% more of what he was worth. Odegaard was already mentioned. Berardi was unreachable, same with Ceballos.

It seems like AI teams are aware of a player's potential. They even say "The team believes in this player and what he can do in the future" or similar.

Neves is... I can't even describe how much I like to play with him, it's like he understands me

With my current squad I can honestly say there isn't a team that can be a problem to beat. Yes, I might not have as much possession as I'd like, but with Buffon and Alessio defending, and with that attack, every game is solved. Too bad the update only comes on the 29th, because I might already need to begin another save. If I win UCL, of course.

And I already sold one for €3m. It was a one time offer so to say, this transfer window the best one was... Abbiati, still there from the former window.

@rebelinho, Nicely done - you have to embrace the addiction

Looks like you're building a strong team, I like Marital & Fischer but never heard of S. Coutinho so i'll check him out.
Glad to hear your spending budget increased as i am hoping for the same with my Swansea team after a decent Champions League run.
De Sciglio captain is a nice touch, if they're ready they're old enough.
I'm also waiting on Quaresma, he's a free agent and i've just put an offer in.
Amauri the 'baby faced assassin' Jese also has the same nickname for me...and he's got a full beard!!

Looking forward to seeing your progress - good luck!

Hi Rebelinho, good thread

You got BUFFON as your keeper, excellent, I also want BUFFON, but I already have 2 good goalkeepers, so not really that desperate to get him.
De sciglio is possibly one of the best fullbacks in the game, impressive stats for him.

keep up with the good work. good luck to your game.

Too bad he peaks at 25 years of age... But I'm gonna keep him.

@Silver Surfer Martial is so good I played a match against Roma a few hours ago and I was just like Guardiola when Lewa scored his five goals. I just can't get my mind around him. He's so good, fast and technical it should be considered cheating.

De Sciglio has been my captain for a while now. Normally Neves or some specific player get that honour, but as this is an italian team I think it would suit him well.

Worthy update: Buffon is rated 79 already. He's 16.

it isn't if the other teams can do it and you can't stop it. tbh I only got Buffon because my main keeper forced his way out, and as he was so easily accesible...

Sometimes games do go your way...

And Buffon is getting ridiculous.

9-2! Haha, classic 11 goal thriller! Your possession stats are high, very nice. I tend to play on the counter attack and most of the time the other team has more of the ball than me.
Can’t believe Buffon didn’t even make 1 save, just gave them 2 consolation goals out of the kindness of his heart!

For a 16yr old he’s really developing fast! Could easily push into the high 90s OR. What are you training him on? Defence, Physical, Speed??

I like to play possessively. If I have the ball they can't score right? After the third goal Udinese pretty much gave up, and whenever they got the ball they seemed so lost they'd just pump it forward I'd recover it easily. De Sanctis was the one in goal, and those two goals he conceeded were exctly the same. Kick off after HF, long ball, I can't head it away, forward turns and puts it to the side. I score, KO for them again and another goal. I score once more, but in their next KO I manage to end it early. De Sanctis is not a good keeper...

Defence. If he keeps on like this, even without flourishings, who knows where he'll stop? The problem is that he requires some high wages... I'm almost in January and he will demand a new contract by then.

I would just drop De Sanctis if I were you and play Buffon as 1st choice. The more game time he gets the better, and faster he'll develop.

Jan Oblak has really come on in goal for me, partly down to the fact that I play him every game, every competition. From 79 OR to 86 OR in 2 and a bit seasons is great going and he hasn't had a red development arrow yet ether.

When you have 11 games per month you can't play the same players twice in a row... Buffon usually plays all the hard games. Udinese is getting worse by the day in my ML. All my outfield players rest after a match.

I agree with this for outfield players but GKs are different in my opinion. They don't need as much rest and can play back to back games. Obviously nice to rest them if you can but my tactic may be able to help speed up Buffon's development for you?
