Top 10 things you want in PES11

It's pretty straight forward, simply name your top 10 ideas for PES 2011. And if you want to, elaborate on why you want these ideas/features in PES11.

* New Animations

Although more fluid and easy on the eye, animations remain too basic and plain, with only a handfull of special animations.

Perhaps a new engine is needed, or who knows, but it's very clear that animations are not on par with most aspects of the game.

* More Special Animations

It's also fair to note that, perhaps player individualism is now more noticeable than ever before. Now we have new options, like choosing between different types of roulettes, step-over dribbles, etc.

Konami should elaborate on that concept, perhaps add some new 5 special animations; sole-of-the-foot dribbles, etc.

* A New Concept for Midfield Play

After playing PES10 and FIFA10, it's unarguably clear that the games cannot improve much further under the same approach - The Approach needs to change.

Midfield play is too easy and one-dimensional, and in reality; the game is won on the midfield. Off the ball movement, triangulation, covering passing lanes, anticipating against, etc. should be a lot more complicated and compromising.

Both FIFA10 and PES10 fail massively in this area, Konami and EA should start thinking about life after PES5 and PES6.

* New Player Attributes

One of the most annoying flaws remains, players with good physical attributes are unrealistically good at defending and winning the ball back. At times I prefer to chase back with Messi, because apparently he is a better defender than Carles Puyol.

If realistic midfield battles are a possibility; it's certainly impossible if players like Messi, CR9, Kaka, etc. keep winning balls so easily. It all indicates that new stats or player attributes -are- needed.

The other standout-flaw that still remains is in the off-the-ball movement and approach of each individual; there are different types of Awareness.

We have players with great tactical qualities, and yet different approaches. This is particularly noticeable on the midfield... We have players like Edgar Davids or Claude Makelele, great defensive midfielders with very different approaches to the game.

Players like Valderrama or Riquelme, who look like they're casually walking through the pitch -when- in fact, they are always looking for passing lanes. They do not worry about chasing back, instead, they invest most of their time controlling the tempo or like in many cases, drifting in and out of play.

Then we have the Frank Lampards, Steven Gerrards, Michael Ballack, etc. Modern players that are often described as "better" or more essential than most, because they offer so much; they score goals, give plenty of assists, chase back, etc.

And then we have exceptions such as Xavi Hernandez and Andres Iniesta. Players who can dictate the tempo like Riquelme, if needed to... but can also chase back and have the physical presence and consistency of players like Steven Gerrard.

Regardless of what type of midfielder you think is better, etc. It all implies that if you have Riquelme in midfield, or Iniesta in midfield, or Lampard in midfield, etc. The team will move and function differently.

We should have off-the-ball qualities or tendencies that should always be switched on, directly linked to each individual's DNA. This would establish a very important difference between technical ability and tactical ability.

My proposition would be to implement specific stats for: attacking work-rate, defensive work-rate, defensive awareness, and attacking awareness, amongst other.

These attributes would complement with the cards, and establish a clear difference between work-rate and awareness, as well as distinguishing tactical ability from technical ability.

* New Alternatives for off-the-ball runs

I'm not sure if I'm missing out on something, but to this day we still have to pass the ball -so- that we can tap the R2 button and set-up an attacking run. It's old and one-dimensional, as well as very obvious and easy to spot.

It would be refreshing if Konami can come up with new ways of setting-up attacking and defensive runs.

* New Approach

PES5, PES6, FIFA09, PES09, FIFA10, PES10 -are- meant to be played for 10 minutes or in other words 5 mins per half. We do have the option of playing 20 minute matches, but when we do; the game does not stand the test of time.

It simply isn't good enough nor realistic enough for 10 or 15 minutes per half. Konami should find a way of making the game fun/realistic/good enough to be played for 20 or 30 minutes; quality over quantity.

Until then it's more of the same; PES09, PES09.5, PES10, PES10, PES10, PES10, PES10... with new kits and some new features that have little or nothing to do with core gameplay.

Decent goalkeepers, decent goalkeepers, decent goalkeepers, decent goalkeepers, decent goalkeepers, decent goalkeepers, decent goalkeepers, decent goalkeepers, decent goalkeepers and decent goalkeepers.

I feel strongly about the goalkeepers being at least vaguely competent.

I like FIFA's "first touch feature" using the right analog stick. It's also used when dribbling to knock the ball a little further ahead - works and looks nice when you skip past an opponent using it. New animation and physics engine. New animations - players look dreadful when running. I would love to see the Euphoria engine in PES11! I still think the gameplay speed is a touch fast - it still feels too much like ping pong at times.

I've been saying this for years! It just feels kinda wierd when an FA Cup game between Wolves and Bolton is being played at a packed out 70,000 seater somewhere in Europe...

Was it PES 5 or 6 or something, when you could change how well supported each side was, as well as if it was a home/away or neuteral game? What happened to that, that was an awesome idea!

Echoed mate!

- The above mentioned
- More body tackles (and a clear and visual difference regarding small and strong players regarding this)
- That the speed stats has actually something to say (Controlling a player with 87/85 speed/acceleration, in pes 2010 the defender with 71 in speed chases you down easily)
- More fluent animations and more touches on the ball when sprinting and changing direction
- Bundesliga teams
- New animation of "controlled shooting" (shooting using the R2 button looks ridiculous)
Improved keepers (don't head it away, when they can easily pick it up)
- NO MORE ASSISTED TACKLING/DEFENDING IN GENERAL
- Penalty kicks when tackled inside the box without them touching the ball
-The strikers may not stop running all of a sudden when a ball is passed perfectly towards them.
- Manual control of all passing, long and short from anywhere on the pitch no matter using x or O.

Agree with the better nets.

Pes1,2,3,4,5,6 Had brilliant nets, on the ps2 they were superb, different colours aswell and brilliant shape. We need different nets/goals in each stadium. The nets on pes 08 09 10 are a joke why did they create them they look like the nets you catch fish in. I have noticed the nets are a different colour in ML games but it still makes goals feel unrealistic when a powerful shot hits the foof of th enet and the net expands.

Also Goalkeepers, Need to be scrapped and re worked, Pes 1 and 2 had great keeper animations.

I'm sorry, but what has irked me the most about PES10 is that you can't actually TACKLE!!! I press X or even Square and they don't do JACK s*%t! They just run next to the opposition player! And when the opposition players then slows down your player slows down with him, WHY?? You just can't tackle!

- Improve tackling and body contact, it's S*&T compared to FIFA10
- Stop players continuing to run for 2 seconds after they have been dispossessed!
- Please improve the referee in all aspects! I mean he doesn't even put his hand to his mouth when he blows the whistle.
- Improve goalkeepers! If they come out then make then go for the ball! Not come out and then run back for no reason!
- Off the ball movement is poor! I sometimes see players just standing there, even though the play is right next to them! I'm sure it's a bug so get it out!
- Why can't you take defenders out of a wall? If they have a free kick near the halfway line, I don't want 2-3 of my defenders in a wall, it's not needed!

- Finally, When players are on the ball it's too slow! When they turn they do it slowly and then an opposition player can come and nick the ball off, yet m,y player just stands there after being dispossessed! NOT GOOD!

They are just 2% of the things that need to be improved

Thumbs up

I agree on many points made. Also:

GRAPHICS. some (most ) of the faces have been recycled from the previous version USE THEM and build some more. It is REALLY a downer when I see the same players get the attention AGAIN when the rest is left to your imagination or if a team that was finally licensed in a new version has all the generic lame faces. You don't have to reinvent the bicycle build on the amazing things you already have.

And by the way what's going on with tiny heads??? They sort of look rediculous. There are certain face to body proportations and I'm not trying to be rude but as I do understand that every person is unique all of the players in PES look slightly retarded.

AUDIO/SOUND When in the world is the name data base will be upgraded???? If you use the same announcers from version to version get them to spend an extra week in the studio and record the names of the players that you have in the game!! Also add some generic names I remember back in the day the NHL games had MASSIVE audio file data base and it was amazing that you could actually hear the name of your created player been said during the match. Once again the data base already exists from the previous versions. USE IT! BUILD ON IT!

GAMEPLAY. If Messi has higher speed with the ball then some no name defender without the ball you cannot teleport him in front of the attacker (apparent in higher levels of difficulty). Correctly executed tricks with high level players MUST fake the defenders otherwise what's the point of upgrading your player?!? For example if the player has higher technical abilities then defenders ability at *defence* he'll fake him out if not then defender will read the move. Just like in real life.

Presentation cheering louder at an important junction of the game from the home team: important goal, important run, "bad" call, "good" call, major save.

ML was a HUGE improvement so just a couple of thoughts:

it might be nice to bring rebirth option back when a retired player comes back as a freshman in a couple of years. Also why don;t you create new talent from the name database that is already in the game so we don't have only "numbers" running on the field within half a decade?

Become a Legend also was a GREAT!!! addition and since you added the boots that influence the stats (which I applaud since the lightness and design of the boot does influence your abilities in real life not too much but it still does) why not have the player unlock specific boots with improved stats as he gets better and sponsor companies get more interested in him? And at the end of his career allow a player to design his own boot? Just a thought

Edit Mode:
More slots for emblems and kits, stadium editor (similar to FIFA manager 08 or LMA manager), manager editor (like in PES manager), ability to put logos and emblems on shorts and socks and editable boots.

Gameplay:
Better refs and keepers, possibly tweak the AI a little.

Other:
Stats need to be a little bit more realistic (in 09 Bellamy was far to slow but now he's too fast), bring back interchangeable kit parts (it was in PES5 but it was removed for some reason), more licensed international kits and players, bring back the Bundesliga, better player faces (some in this years game are great but the others are fairly poor), home supporters need to be louder when their team score and possibly more stadiums (including some generic stadiums like on FIFA).

The new penalty shooting in games is awful. I don't like it one bit. Give us the old front view back and a power bar instead. So what if it resembles FIFA.

I would also like for every team specific passing styles. With the option to chose the passing type. Just as in Manager games. Like short passing (for dominant possessing teams as Barcelona, Arsenal etc. players spread wider ), long passing (for less technique based teams and lower tear teams, like bottom of PL) and direct passing (for teams with pacey players that are great on counter attack, and more compact teams, like Getafe etc.) and teams that have mixed styles. It will give more realism and authenticity. For example if you play against Stoke City (no offense!) in Pes 10 they will sometimes pass the ball and hold possession as if they where Portugal or Arsenal.

And yes the AI also seems like they are content with possessing the ball instead of actually creating goal chances.

And bring back delayed yellow cards. Sometimes you can really foul a player who has just passed the ball and nothing happens afterwards. Give us the possibility to remove the walls again on free-kicks like in PES09. I hate to see a free kick on the middle of the pitch or close to the corner flag and there is a two or three man wall. I have never seen that in real life.
