I don't care about the age, that film was cringy most of the time, the special effects are mostly rubbish (really, trees made of gunpowder or similar?), and Arnold/Weathers were the only above-average parts about it.

When Weathers' character lost his arm I just facepalmed, looked at my dad and sighed in disbelief. That whole scene was... holy shit it was bad.

2 shows left to finish my 50. Looking at my schedule The Shield Season 2 and Rick and Morty Season 3 will likely round my 50 out.

Looking at my 50, you can see that I've really gone off Anime, nothing watched since March, factor in me selling off a shitload of stuff, I think I'm done. Good thing is though, I've watched a lot of good TV instead!

Most relevant

Un Chien Andalou ??/10

I have no idea what this is. By far the most confused I've been by a film, even more than Donnie Darko.

Edge of Tomorrow 8.5/10

Take a good idea. It's good, right? Inherently good. But good is not enough. It has to be acted accordingly. Don't mess it up. Take that idea and build layers upon it, without changing its core. This is a proper science-fiction film that doesn't make stupid mistakes. Acting is supreme. The story makes sense. The action is just enough. Even the "love story" finds its natural place. Definitely a must-watch.

The Road 8.5/10

If you haven't, watch it asap. This is all I wanted from War of the Worlds and even more. No hero-complex bullshit. No happy-ending because of course it has to end well. It's grey, it's dark, it's plain and simple. It has a message and conveys it bluntly, like a hammer. It hits hard, but it's supposed to.

Enemy at the Gates 8.0/10

Take away that ridiculously place love triangle and it's one of the best war films ever. A bit weird how the russians speak english most of the time and Vasili has a clear brittish accent.

In the Name of the Father 8.5/10

The Hunt meets Hunger. Take away the disturbing physical presence of Hunger and you have a film everybody should watch. Day-Lewis disappears in the role (I don't even know how the man himself is, I look at his Gerry Conlon and I can't even imagine how the actor behind that character is in real life).

October review, totals in parenthesis, and some considerations

After seeing this on reddit

regarding gaming reviews, I noticed my ratings were suffering from the same virus. The "everything is good" virus. I've discussed this with my parents and friends, how if the scales are indeed correct, the average test scores would be hovering 50%. 50% is the average, not below average, or at least it shouldn't be. I believe this si the correct way. So I started correcting my ratings, and in order to keep it coherent with my imdb list (which I keep for organization reasons) , I'll stick to a 0-to-10 scale, no decimals. The previous list can be seen here.

Books: 0 (7)
Films: 7 (75)
TV Shows: 3 (10)
Albums: 4 (26)
Games: 0 (3)

Most relevant

Hugo 9/10

What a delightful film. Beautiful in every sense, and will leave you with a warm heart. Definitely a must watch.

Enemy 7/10

If Donnie Darko wasn't nearly as pretentious. Gyllenhaal does a much better job here. Major spoilers ahead.
