Just read that you've signed Sylvain Marveaux. He's supposed to be pretty good.

What a disgusting fat cunt. The stuff about us being invisible outside the North East is bollocks enough, but what irked me more was him saying Nolan went because West Ham have more ambition than us. Course they do fat man, it had nothing to do with the fact he was getting more money and a 5-year deal. This West Ham media bias is fucking deplorable - this guy is a West Ham fan for fuck's sake.

Yeah we might not have won a European Cup, but when the fuck have West Ham ever done it (65 Cup Winners Cup doesn't count); nay, when the fuck have they ever qualified for the Champions League? The only reason West Ham would be known across Europe is because of their 'antics' there in the 70s and early 80s. We all know about them.

A couple of recent interviews with two of our brightest prospects - Adam Campbell & Mehdi Abeid.

http://www.unitedfornewcastle.org.uk...a-mehdi-abeid/

Quote:
1. What do you think of Newcastle as a city, and what have you thought of the fans since you joined?

I’m very happy to be in Newcastle, and I’m enjoying it very much. I like the town. I visited a little this week. The staff at the club and the fans have been very good with me.

2. You got your first taste of action with the first-team against Darlington. What did you think of the match?

It was a really good match. I think we played really well. It was a good test for me since I got an idea of my physical fitness. The match itself went really well. The supporters were truly fantastic and the atmosphere was brilliant!

3. Is training difficult in comparison to clubs in France?

Yes, it is more difficult. There’s a lot of really good players in the team, but this is important for me to interact with really good players so that I can progress. It’s really important for young players to be able to train and practice with these kinds of players.

4. You are one of several new French signings at the club. Has that helped you to adjust and settle in?

The staff and the supporters have helped integrate me into the team really well. I’m adapting to the game here. It’s important to feel good, and I’m truly very happy to be here.

5. You have some Facebook photos with Haris Vuckic. Who from the team do you spend the most time with?

I spend a lot of time with Haris. He’s really helped me get settled in. And I’m often hanging out with [Yohan] Cabaye and [Sylvain] Marveaux.

6. What are your aims for the upcoming season?

My objective is to have a good season whether that is with the first team or the reserve team. I want to play a lot of games so I can progress and I’m hoping for a few games in the Premier League. It’s a huge honour for me to be part of a Premier League team. When the coach calls for me, I’ll be ready.

7. Who has impressed you the most in training?

Demba Ba has impressed me a lot with his movement and his ability to keep the ball. He’ll be really important in the team, and he’s truly a very good player.

8. The fans have taken to you very well. Do you have any message for them?

I just want to say to the supporters that I’m truly happy to be here, and I’m hoping to have a good season. I want to play in very good matches. I hope that you’ll like my style of play and I hope that you’ll get to appreciate it for a very long time. I’d also like to say thanks for the messages they send me on Facebook.

United For Newcastle would like to thank Mehdi for taking time out of his day to speak with us. We wish him a fantastic season with us, and we look forward to seeing him on the pitch this year.
Interview with Adam Campbell.

Quote:
What team do you support?

Newcastle United.

Who is your best mate at NUFC?

Couldn’t pick a best mate, love everyone.

Who is the funniest player at NUFC?

There’s a group of funny players, Michael Riley, Dennis Knight, Liam Henderson, Remi Streete and Billy Ions being the stand out jokers.

Who is always last off the training pitch?

Definitely Ben Sayer, he loves staying out to train.

Who is your favourite player in the first team to watch?

Hatem Ben Arfa, he has unreal tekkers, he’s calm and composed on the ball and I love the way he dribbles.

What is the most memorable game you’ve played in?

It has to be England V Northern Ireland in the Victory Shield.

What is the most memorable first team game you’ve watched?

Newcastle 5-1 Sunderland. (I’m sure many fans will agree with you on that one Adam)

What current player do you model yourself on?

I love Hernandez, so I’d say I probably modelled myself on him, because he has amazing movement and he’s a quality finisher.

What is the favourite goal you’ve scored in your career so far?

It was against Bolton, It’s my favourite because it was my first for the reserves. I’ll always remember that goal. Stephen Folan crossed it over and the keeper came out and I put it in the near post.

Who is your favourite ever NUFC player?

Alan Shearer, He was a legend. No other way to describe him, he was just too special.

What are your personal aims for next season?

I would like to establish myself in the youth team and push for reserves if possible.

How does it feel to have won the MVP award at the Nike Premier cup, which has also been won by Iniesta, Tevez and Torres?

It’s an absolute honour to win that award; I can’t describe how good it feels to win something which has been won by such great players.

Something which stands out to me from the interview is that fact that Adam actually supports Newcastle. That’s always a good start and the North Shields born striker could prove to be a real hit on Tyneside. A home-grown talent is always popular with the fans, and they are normally the most loyal of players, emphasis on normally, ahem Mr Carroll.

Adam has achieved quite a lot so far in his short career. The 16 year old striker has already been called up for England duty, has represented the club at youth and reserve level, and has shown himself to be a very talented player.

If Adam turns into anything like Hernandez – the player he models himself on – then I’m sure he and all Newcastle fans will be absolutely delighted. Also after winning the MVP award at the Nike Premier cup Adam definitely has something about him, and hopefully over the next few years he will be able to showcase his undoubted talent on the biggest stage for Newcastle United. I, for one am very excited about following his progress.
Abeid was quite impressive in his brief cameo the other night, he was playing in a similar position to Carrick, just sitting in front of the defence, but picking people out with his passing. He must be highly rated inside the club, as we've just signed him and he's going with the first team squad on the tour of America, rather than joining the reserves on their trip to Holland.

Barton's making an announcement concerning his future on twitter at 4, and the word on twitter is that he's been released. The fact that he was done with training so early today seems to suggest as much.

I don't have the words. Yet at the same time it's hard to see what exactly Barton was trying to achieve from all his bullshit postings - except of course his release. I'm seriously concerned about this season now. Defeats in our first two games (which is distinctly possible) would really crank up the pressure on Pardew. I expect he'll be gone by November.

Well he better move to another Premier League club, I have him in my FL team and I don't want to be screwed over before the season starts.

Posted some of my thoughts on Twitter, but I really think Pulis would fancy a crack at Barton.

I thought Newcastle could have been a surprise package this season, and I guess they still could, but losing Barton will hit them hard. The sooner Pardew is gone the better though. Seems to be a bit of animosity in the dressing room, judging by Enrique and Barton's Twitter accounts.

He'll probably end up at Everton or Villa - certainly there will be no shortage of takers now. Maybe even one of the bigger clubs will go in for him.

Losing the an integral part of the heartbeat of our team in one summer is dicing with disaster, especially as new faces don't look imminent. If Enrique goes that'll be another replacement needed. We need at least 3 but we'll be lucky to get 1.

That would make a lot of sense actually. Would also free up on of their midfielders to be able to generate some funds to work with, given how strapped they are at the moment.

To be fair, as troublesome as he can be and as much of a cunt he seems to be, he's probably worth taking the risk on - especially if it is a free transfer.

It's certainly going to be very interesting now. I've got his Twitter account open in another tab, just waiting for 4pm now, as ridiculously dull as that sounds.

What is the actual deal with Barton? He's expressed his desire to stay at Newcastle for so long - why is there so much talk of Newcastle allowing/wanting him to leave? Feel like I'm missing something here.

If he is to go, expect a rant from him with a few home truths. Looking at his twitter, he looks as if he's got a lot to get off of his chest.

Telegraph seem to think he's already been released.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/foo...inst-club.html

Bit extreme. I'm sure there'll be no shortage of clubs sniffing about. Bit of a cunt, but I thought he'd cleaned his act up a bit and has turned himself into a very good player.
