I went to the newcastle metro arena one on 3rd December. They were poor to say the least. I mean they put on a good show and all and I did enjoy it, but they played the songs too fast to enjoy so you couldn't actually sing along or jump in time with the rhythm, I'm pretty sure they were piss drunk, and they weren't singing the right tunes to their own songs! I've already commented on this in the "live bands" thread. Travis is an amazing drummer tho, and I am a fan of their music.

I used to want to see Blink live but I don't like them anymore. The old stuff's still good but they've sold out good and proper. A supposed 'punk' band playing an arena tour? I bet tickets cost the best part of £30 each too.

What punk bands? Green Day? Offspring? Good Charlotte? Give me a break. You wouldn't know real punk if it played in your bedroom because you'd be too busy watching pop music in an ice hockey stadium or something.

i heard that even if you don't like the music, you can't not have fun at a concert

Yeh tomo mate check out REAL punk music. The Clash, Sex Pistols, The Ramones. Also, Rancid are allright. Blink 182 have just gone pop now, they were allright originally. If I ever hear GOOD CHARLOTTE, ARE, and PUNK used in the same sentence I will scream.

Think it's a bit unfair to lump Green Day in with all those fake punk bands, they were around well before the commercialisation started, lyrically they are a million miles apart from the likes of Blink 182 and Good Charlotte. They're recieving quite a bit of media attention at the moment which will obviously generate cynicism in some people, however I still wouldn't throw them in with those other lot.

Green Day seem to have become a victim of growing up rather than commercialisation etc. I loved all the albums before warning but that one was cack and the new one looks to be the same. I had hoped they were back to near their best with American Idiot but the new single sounds shit again.
