Christ, I suppose I should have expected this type of reply from you.

I had that happen to me along time ago. In fact around september 2004, like at the beginning of school, almost every PC in my city was under that virus problem. But I think this is a new one. I'm glad my PC isn't experiencing that infection again.

This won't (repeat - won't!) remove the virus, but it will stop your computer shutting down whilst you try and fix it:

Whenever that alert comes up, open the 'Run' command from the start menu and type:

shutdown -a

Then click Ok or press Enter. Or if you can't be bothered doing that each time, open Control Panel -> Performance and Maintainance -> Administritive Tools -> Services, scroll down to 'Remote Call Procedure (RPC) and right click and choose 'Properties', click the 'Recovery' tab at the top and change the 3 drop down menus which say 'Restart the computer' to 'Take no action'.

If you run a decent anti-virus that should get rid of it, I used AVG to get rid of mine I think. Am I right in thinking this is the SASSER.F worm?

/Edit, the patch doesn't get rid of it, it fills up the hole that is comes undetected through.. you'll need the fix tool aswell
