The anime industry and its fans are as retarded as each other. Especially fans who don't buy anything.

Historically 50% of sales for a title are made within the first week, that is where it comes from. They do know what they are talking about in this instance.

You're right, I obviously don't know enough about the industry!

Still, paying full price upon release is just something I'm not going to do unless I'm in love with the film/series. If I was to buy everything on release at full price, I wouldn't be sleeping on a bed right now. Now...I may consider buying Spirited Away on release (Blu-ray of course) should the package be sufficient - e.g. I don't fancy paying £15+ for a single-disc release with minimal special features. But of course, being an optimist, I'm hoping for a combi pack.

During the Saiyan Saga, it has to be when Gohan discover's his hidden powers. Just so epic, when you first see those episodes you can't see it because he's always crying, seems like a harmless kid. Gohan obviously sensed his dad's trouble. Even though this leads to Goku's death, it was a glimpse of what power this kid had. I really enjoyed this saga even though it wasn't as exciting, not many powers or transformations but it was the beginning for me.

Just started watching Eden of the East while I wait for my Multi-Region BD player to get here so I can carry on with FMA:Brotherhood.

I've watched the first few episodes before it was licensed and it's more fan service than full blown hentai. I'll be picking it up on BD as the premise is interesting and from what I saw it is done well.

Just wrapped up the first 4 volumes of FMA: Brotherhood on BD. The first 13 episodes was a nicely paced rerun of things i'd already seen in the original series, and although it was material I was already familiar with it is still great.

The second 13 brought with it new story and new characters and hinted at a power I was not even aware of in the FMA world (as I never read the manga). The pacing was perfect and the reveal at the end of the last episode caught me off guard!

The third batch I felt lulled a bit as everything that was building to a head in the second suddenly crashed to a halt as everyone was split up, but it introduced some great characters and redeemed itself towards the end of its run with the set pieces and battles.

The 4th in particular has really kicked things up a notch in terms of pacing, action and intrigue. There is a lot of maneuvering and tactical planning but the last few episodes in particular have just been immense. I couldn't stop watching and there literally wasn't a bad episode in the run.

While I wait for the last volume of FMA to be released in a couple of weeks I have moved onto Soul Eater on BD. Watched the first 3 "prologue" episodes and i'm very impressed. A unique style, good range of characters and a very interesting premise.

Panty and Stocking (anime not the girls!) doesn't look like it'd be my cup of tea tbh.

I'd wholeheartedly recommend Soul Eater to any anime fan. Just an awesome show, can't wait to get the next BD release in August.
