Question Why can't pes be the same as WE?

why dont they make the pes version exactly the same as the winning eleven series. i cant believe how much better we8 is compared to pro 4. it make pro 4 look like a bag of crap. *off to get ps2 chipped*

winning eleven is miles better than pro evolution soccer.
they are suppose to be the same game but i beg to differ.
if i found the people who tampered with the crappy european version, then i would surely knife them in the throat.

Too hard to tell the difference, I reckon.

Both games are very similiar.

The only differences that I can tell between WE8 and PES4 are that the speed of the game was faster in PES4 than it was in WE8. Dribbling was easier in PES4.

Obviously, teams like Wolves were present in WE8 but removed in PES4 and replaced with teams like Norwich, West Brom etc.

Plus, some transfers were updated aswell such as Rooney moving to Man Utd (he was at Everton in WE8).

But overall, I really can't make out any major differences in both the WE games and the PES games.

Both games are a class act.

My advice is; if you can afford it, get both games.

I would also like it if they stopped making lots of different versions. Right now it seems like there is no "definitive" version, so to speak.

I would really like it if the team producing the games really got together and focused on one PES game, making it the very best it can be. Right now it seem like there is just so much tweaking all the time. A more concentrated and combined effort could be good for the game.

Hmm, you're right.

There are usually lots of different versions of the WE games. Which incidentally are all released in the same 12 months.

It's annoying to see "Liveware evolutions" and "Final evolutions" being released months after the original WE game was released.

I would say pes5 is a lot better than we9. Bit faster gameplay, and the ref SUCKS in we9. Major malfunction there, if it wasnt for the ref, i would love them both as much

Haven't played WE8 so I can't comment on the differences with PES4.
But IMO PES5 and WE9 are almost identical gameplaywise.
I don't know why but I can't see the differences others are talking about. (PES5 being faster with easier dribbling and CPU not defending so deep).

I think these games differ because playstyle in Europe and Japan obviously differs in some ways. I find japaneese league (and other Asian leagues) sluggish and less aggresive.
Konami did a great job with adapting this stuff into their games and giving some subtle changes to both of them (ie. WE8-PES4 : PES4 got harder crosses, WE8 stayed with balloon balls ; WE9-PES5 : change in pace of the buildup play)
I think if there was a brazilian version of the game it would be the fastest PES ever :] and game would be all about individual play.
Just my 3 cents.

I've not played any WE games but from what I've heard, they generally improve the engine for a newer version and then gradually tweak it until we get a new PES game. I'm a PES fan so I can't complain. I just adore the new PES5 demo.

One thing I would presume however, is that they feel the european market (and Australasian too) need a somewhat pacier game. Maybe the Premierships influence?
