Official England V Turkey Thread

Its currently 0-0 at Half Time with Captain Beckham missing a penalty. England have a creative spark in Rooney and Turkey in Nihat. Turkey put the pressure on England late in the first half but stood strong. 45 Mins left till Euro 2004.

GET IN! We did what was required although we definatley should have scored. Rooney, Beckham and Scholes, all with great chances. What a shocker from Becks! Ah well, it doesn't matter! We've made it!

Two of the funniest incidents I've seen in a match last night. Firstly Beckham's slip, which at the time wasn't funny at all but looking back I can't help but chuckle. And lastly, that audacious bicycle kick by Rustu straight in Dyer's face followed by that embarrassing 'overhead' kick which he scuffed. Serves him right, the show-boater.

We're in!

Its a pity scholes didn't score that chance, the last time he scored was englands last vital qualifier so it would have been a good time to breack his England goal drought!

Are you talking about the Rooney chance which scholes took off him? If Rooney would of shot you know that it would have troubled the keeper. Ah well..

but the main thing is, we're through!

Is anyone planning on going to Euro 2004 in Portugal to cheer on the lads?

Haha, yeah, Sukur. That was hilarious, I liked how Campbell confronted him afterwards. I'd like to imagine what was said to him .

That attempt to con the referee was laughable! Although it wouldn't have been if the ref had fell for it, but no, not Mr Colina. - The best ref in the business. Divers should be banned, I hate to see it!
