Imgine How I Feel

My PS2, was hit with the dreaded non-disc-read epidemic, in about April...May....and at that time I was in season 31 of my master league...and I wasnt really finding it a challenge.....so I just thought I'd get round to gettin the PS" laser fixed, later on in the year....ready for the new games I was anticipating.....

So...by about the end of August, I was hearing about the mid-November PES3 release date....and starting to make moves to get it fixed.....

Then of course, the release date was pushed forward to October 17th.....which I was glad about, but I meant I needed to get my PS2 Laser fixed more quickly.....so no problem....

Mid-Way through September, I give the PS2, to a family friend who said he could fix it, and get it back to me in good time for the October 17th release date...

.....so far so good......

So the weeks pass by, and I trust that he is getting the PS2 fixed...and I'll get PES3.....and I'll be a happy man...

7th Of October....

I ask him, how the progress is....and he tells me he hasnt started...which I was annoyed about......but I've got 10 days til the release....so theres plenty of time...

....Or so I thought

He tells me on the 12th, that he could get it back in 3 days.....the 15th (today)......and guess what........its now FRIDAY I get it back.....(I hope, could even be monday  )

So my copy of PES3, could come through the post in the next day or two, and I'm just gonna have to sit and stare at it, in the hope my PS2 is on its way back......them days will just drag.....

Anyways.....just needed to vent some frustration.....hope all the play.com'ers get their copies soon.....and good luck with your PES3 gaming...!!!

The laser part of your story is identical to mine! (Except mine was actually fixed mid September) Sony should really make their machine more reliable when we spend so much money on them!!!!

A local postal strike on the day mine was sent out (10th) until yesterday (14th) has thwarted my PES enjoyment. Expected it Tuesday, then Wednesday. And tomorrow I’ll be in my sister’s car on the way to work hoping that my dad will phone up with those 19 magic words he usually greets my deliveries with…:

“You’ve just had a package from Play.com, how much bloody money are you going to spend on there?”

And I’ll be the happiest man on earth, and if not I’m gonna skip work on Friday and set my posties eyebrow on fire!

Take that uni browed fiend

Fingers crossed

X

hard luck mate

can i suggest another way demun, mine only ended up costing £25 because the only problem was about 12 inches of dust inside mine, i took it to my local computer store (who's owner i know quite well) and he said it was completely stuffed full of dust, so he cleaned it out, give the lens a little clean/adjustment and now it works fine

my pro evo 2 stopped working ages ago and i've had the pleasure of giving it a proper burial/goodbye with my Ps2 fixed.

just a suggestion, hope you get it sorted a.sap

My friend had the same problem with his PS2 laser

The thing is, he played the PS2 ALL the time without EVER cleaning the PS2 with a cd lens cleaner or cleaning the games he plays

Lasers are very subtle when it comes to dust so if you dont clean your PS2 regular with a cd lens cleaner then more than likely you get the same problem you had

I hope your friend knows what hes doing as he may do more damage than good

Sorry to hear about your PS2 mate. I had a similar experience with a hi-fi a few years ago. My guess is you won't get it back any time soon unless you're quite forceful about it. This guy doesn't really sound like a friend.

You could just go and play on his PS2 till yours is fixed! :p
