Aragones will announce his final 23-player squad on May 15, the day rosters must be submitted to FIFA.

Spain has exhibition games against Russia on May 27, Egypt on June 3 and Croatia on June 7. At the World Cup, it has first-round games against Ukraine, Tunisia and Saudi Arabia.

The roster:

Goalkeepers: Santiago Canizares (Valencia), Iker Casillas (Real Madrid), Jose Reina (Liverpool, England).

Defenders: Joan Capdevila (Deportivo de La Coruna), Asier Del Horno (Chelsea, England), Juanito Gutierrez (Real Betis), Pablo Ibanez (Atletico de Madrid), Antonio Lopez (Atletico de Madrid), Carlos Marchena (Valencia), Carles Puyol (Barcelona), Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid), Michel Salgado (Real Madrid), Javi Venta (Villarreal).

Midfielders: David Albelda (Valencia), Xabi Alonso (Liverpool, England), Luis Garcia (Liverpool, England), Xavi Hernandez (Barcelona), Marcos Senna (Villarreal), Cesc Fabregas (Arsenal, England), Ruben Baraja (Valencia); Joaquin Sanchez (Real Betis), Andres Iniesta (Barcelona).

Forwards: Raul Gonzalez (Real Madrid), Fernando Morientes (Liverpool, England), Jose Antonio Reyes (Arsenal, England), Fernando Torres (Atletico de Madrid), David Villa (Valencia).
It may be too early to say, but this is the team most likely to be brought to Germany. Leaving out Guti who's form has been good and consistent this season. This may be bias coming from a Real Madrid fan, but I think Guti deserves to go to Germany. And if that's not bad enough, he left out De La Pena who lead Espanyol to the Copa Del Rey and Vincente, it surely speaks volumes. Anyone of the 3 left out surely deserves the place more than Luis Garcia, Iniesta or Raul(there I said it)
Aragones should really let his decision making make up for his racism.

Although Senna's been on good form for Villarreal I dont think hes been as good as Guti or Vicente...i think one of they 2 or even both deserve to go..

I dont really think theres a need for 3 keepers either.

That's pretty much the best team you can get from Spain. Espanyol is 15th in the league, and besides the Copa Del Rey, De La Pena has hardly impressed me. Vicente hasn't been on his usual form, he has scored only 3 goals so far in La Liga.

Guti is a close call, I might even drop Xavi (has been injured for ages) for him. But it's just a matter of taste.

Exactly, Vicente has a lot of potential but he has had like a one good season. Overrated if you ask me.

Guti has had his chance, and Iniesta has been one of Barca's best players in the CL lately.

What's wrong with Torres? If Spain are gonna score goals he's gonna do it, along with Villa. This has not been Joaquin's season but I don't think anyone else can play on the wing better than he can. Anyways, Guti would be essential for Spain, pity there's not much of a chance of him going.
