Best Defender (World - since Jan 1 '03)
Same as the other threads...only one nomination...not three or four!

Who is the best Defender since the start of the year?

Thuram is ultra consistent and has my vote.

I must admit though that i don't take too much notice of the defenders and agree with whoever it was that said that the Defenders and GK's don't get enough credit for what they do.
Too True!!! But alas...the Strikers and MF's are where the Glory is at!

Although it's not been his best year, I'd still say Cannavaro. Chivu, Thuram and even Montero would get a say if I was allowed.

I think probably Thuram. Maldini is still at an incredible level. And Zambrotta should get a special mention as he has been a revelation since becoming a left back.
