Decent/good first half. We deserved a penalty when Ooijer was ippon-ed to the ground during a corner, and Boula almost scored an own goal.
Argentina looking more dangerous at times although they havent had any REAL big chances yet...
Kuytt had a good chance but Argentine keeper made a good save.

Messi has been a bit greedy on a couple of occasions and Tevez on one. Loving Tevez's play though and a nice performance from Argentina so far - just missing the goal.

Could ITV have kissed Lionel Messi's arse much more? We all know he's a superb talent and great at dribbling but for goodness sake give it a rest. Not as bad as when everyone goes on about Ronaldinho all the time - even when he's not playing well - but its annoying all the same.

Exactly - Clive Tyledsly or however you spell it really gets on my nerves with his commentary - why do Beglin and Brackley always get the more unpopular game ? they are a much better duo in my opinion.

According to David Pleat, Messi plays in Brazil (along with Tevez). Trust this man - he's the same one who signed Simone Perrotta for AC Milan without the club or player knowing anything about it.

If only both teams hadn't already qualified, then they would have tried to play well.

I thought both teams played pretty well. Both organisations were pretty solid, and although there werent many big chances, there were a few, play was fast and went from end-to-end.
MOTM in my opinion was definately Khalid Boularouz, who had a tremendous game, and will hopefully start in the next game, as he seems MUCH better then mathijssen. Plus he was also very good at keeping the ball in the squad, including some magnificent long passes, which many people beforehand said he couldnt do.

Van der Sar also made some quality saves, just as his Argentine collegue on the other side of the pitch did...
All in all an entertaining game.

The ref wasnt so good though, and we should have gotten a penalty in the first half. Fifa have given the referees to clamp down on the shit that goes down during corners, but apparently throwing a guy to the ground isnt considered a foul...

I was disappointed with the performances by the two teams. I expected a far more entertaining game. At half time I switched over to watch Ivory Coast vs S&M - now that was a game!

The commentators were awful tonight in their pronounciation of 'Kuijt', sounded more like 'Kout'. Sometimes I feel wathcing the match on mute would be a much better option.

Damn the bumming of Messi. Tevez seemed more like Maradona to me tonight. He was awesome at times. The bit where he literally beat 3 men in his own half was unbelievable.

Actually, Gullit is the one who said it is supposed to be pronounced "Kout" prior to the game starting.

That's how things normally are. Unfortunately as Tevez isn't in Europe and Messi is, we aren't told the truth about the former and the latter is going to be flogged to us in every way possible. I wouldn't want Tevez at Milan for nothing - he's an absolutely magnificent footballer, far far better than most who are constantly lauded.

It is 'Koyt' i believe. Ive heard it said like that on Dutch commentary. Not 'Kout', 'Kowt', 'Kert' or 'kite'...'KOYT'.

Van Nistelrooy - Van Nistelrooij
Dirk Kuyt - Dirk Kuijt

A bt different but not enough.

Where are Barry and Yi-Long when you've got a problem with a Dutch name? Hmm probably enjoying the delights of everything legal in Holland.

Probably getting stoned or watching a windmill or Tulip picking.

N.B. This is a lazy and misfound stereotype on my part
