WAs Poll's match last night typical of him and refereeing in England

To me that refereeing performance by Graham Poll wasnt a surprise. Setting aside the three yellow cards the whole game was refereed badly, and lets face it the game was played in a physical manner, no differently to games played in this country. And games week in week out in this country are refereed with the same mistakes as we saw last night.

I believe the refereeing in this country is terrible and I am glad that the whole world had the experience of seeing our best (as he was nominated by the FA as our best referee when they chose him for the World Cup) referree in all his glory.

It also makes me sick to hear the players say what a great referee he is normally - bullshit ! When will someone say what they really think rather than all this towing the line crap ?

I didn't see it - my sponge cake would have burnt - but the 3 yellow cards incident is a joke. For a top official to make that sort of error in such a big tournament.

And Ballter says the other officials should have intervened. Nice way to shift the blame of sometihng that is entirely Poll's fault.

I think the linesmen were English too - at least they were all together on Poll's first match

Out of interest - those of you that think other English referees would have done better who do you think ? Poll is considered to be out best one. Thats how ludricous this is.

Horrible performance by Poll, and I know there are some more horrible english refs, but every country has it's fair share of shite referees (Mike Riley for example), and perhaps another english ref would have done better (it would have been pretty hard to do worse then Poll)
I voted for the 2nd option.

Poll should never be allowed to referee a match again.

In fact he should never be allowed near a match agin, nor should he be allowed to hold a whistle.

In fact we should break his fingers and punch out all his teeth, just in case he tries whistling without a whistle.

-Deki- is as bad as a Meyyappan post

This was a total joke, an English ref aswell.

Think of what would have happened if Croatia had went on to win the game after he didn't get sent off!!

Another think, the commentators weren't slagging him in the way they did with the Mexican ref in the England game, yet the Mexican didn't make any disgraceful mistakes. Had this been the other way around the would have ripped the pissh out of the ref wherever he may have been from.

Poll shouldn't ref an international game again, and if the F.A. and English football have any credibility at all he should never ref a game again in England.

Sorry refs can make minor mistakes, but this was just the worst I have ever seen. At the top level this can't be accepted, even a Sunday League ref wouldn't have made this mistake.

Graham Poll = Total fucking fool

I think another English ref could do better (don't know who). Wouldn't be hard to beat Graham Poll's performance. The 3 yellow cards summed up his night.

Greenegg after watching every Birmingham game the year we got promoted, and the year before that, I expected the refereeing in the Premiership to be better than in the lower leagues. Unfortunately it is far worse as players are so much "cuter" and the refs dont want to be accused of "not letting the game flow" on MOTD

Poll was good..until he lost control in the second half.....from an aussie poin of view, we got our justice when he spotted the first hand ball
