International retirements and squad changes after the world cup?
I thought it would be good to start a thread for updated international squads before the euro 2008 qualification matches start.
I'll start with sweden since it's the team I know best: Retired: Sweden Henrik Larsson -> replaced by Fredrik Berglund (FC Copenhagen) Teddy Lucic -> Mikael Antonsson (Panathinaikos) Mattias Jonsson -> Kennedy Bakircioglu (Twente) France Zinedine Zidane -> ? Holland Philip Cocu -> Urby Emanuelson (Ajax) Germany Oliver Kahn -> Timo Hildebrand (no third goalkeeper selected yet) Czech Republic Karel Poborsky -> ? Pavel Nedved -> ? Italy Alessandro Del Piero -> ? Removed from squad: Holland Ruud Van Nistelrooy -> Klaas Jan-Huntelaar (Ajax) Mark Van Bommel -> Stijn Schaars? (AZ) England David Beckham -> Shaun Wright-Phillips? (Chelsea) Sol Campbell -> Michael Dawson? (Tottenham) David James -> ? Changed Captains Sweden Olof Mellberg -> Freddie Ljungberg England David Beckham -> John Terry Does anybody else have any squad changes? |
