Turkey out!!

Turkey 2-2 Latvia (agg 2-3)

Did anyone expect Latvia to beat Turkey?

Even after the 1st leg result i thought Turkey would turn it round.

I never expected that. I thought they'd win easily, especially after getting a 2-0 lead and at home as well.

the Euro 2004 will be better than the world cup, look at the teams!!! England, Spain, Holland, France, Germany, Czech Republic, Croatia, Denmark.

its arguable that the last eight teams left in the competetion will be stronger than the last eight in the world cup, and take Argentina and Brazil out of that, what have you got?

I read last night about this 'curse' that any team that finishes 3rd in the world cup doesn't qualify for the following European Championships.

WC94 - Sweden beat Bulgaria 4-0 and didn't qualify for Euro 96.
WC98 - Croatia beat Holland 2-1 and didn't qualify for Euro 2000.
WC02 - Turkey beat South Korea 3-2 and didn't qualify for Euro 2004.

Spooky!

EDIT:- And it goes deeper!

Is this right? If so, Very Spooky!

I wonder if the recent tragic bombings in Turkey were in the minds of some of the Turkish players while they were playing. Unlucky for them, I would have liked to see them in the finals. Well, at least Spain and Holland are through.

I wonder if the result would have been different with Davies, Bellamy there. Possibly.

There were two bomb attacks. The one I was referring to was carried out on November 15th.

Nothing to do with the bombings. (The second one was after the match anyway) it's because of the goddamn manager. he's shit

Turkey never impressed me. Everybody thinks that they are great because they 3rd of the world. But the last WC was pretty crap without any of the topteams ( Argentinie, Czech, Holland, France etc.) I think.
I was suprised they out but they dont have that great team everyone thinks I think.
No offend to anyone its just mine opinion so far........... prove it to me if im wrong.

Cheers
