i bought a guy called 'Matthieu' in my first season in ML, he was cheap/free, about 22, has decent stats and is improving well. he plays SB,DMF,CMF, SMF, is left footed. he's my captain now and has a few goals from his thunderbolt of a left peg (including probably my favourite free kick goal i've ever scored on PES).
I also got a striker/winger called Park Chu Young who is developing well, is pretty quick and skillful and also scores a lot of headers.

Depending on your luck is more entertaining. However, most players could develop well if you continue winning.
