History is an interesting subject, broadly speaking of course as there a certainly dull points as there are with most subjects. The areas you suggest are rather interesting as I tend to find military and political history the more interesting areas of the subject. Unfortunately I don't really have the time, or resources to do the research into the areas that I'd like to.
I wonder how many people would reply to my proposed thread; 'Economic Interest?'... few I imagine. |

Well, those are shit units to use, and even if they weren't A^3 is not polarizability. It looks like a bit of Rayleigh-Schrodinger perturbation theory for a process involving the second and third energy levels of the hydrogen atom, although I have no idea what they're trying to do to end up with a volume.

Look if you want to talk about that shit I suggest you take it to the 'Chemical Interest?' thread, which will probably get about 2 replies, mostly people saying "What a shit thread."

Well I find it quite sickening of course, just as I find what the Spanish did to the indigenous peoples of the Americas quite disgusting. How can you condone what is ultimately genocide?

Do you like Ancient Greek history BarnDoor?
![]() I love it personally and not just because I come from it. But the history itself is so rich it can't be written in few pages. The Illiad, Trojan war, Minoan civilization, all the mythologies ofcourse (Greek Gods, Heracles etc), the Spartan-Persian war (a movie coming out about it), the battles with the Byzantium Empire and so much more. It's just the best history part and most interesting piece for me. Edit: I am in Greece right now and history is an important aspect for me. I'll go visit the Parthenon on Acropolis maybe this week, it's always great to go there and it kinda rekindles me.

Yeah Hoplite warfare interests me but I personally found Alexander and the subsequent Hellenistic era with the Diadochi more interesting than the Hellenic era of Ancient Greece, though the Persian War and Peloponnesian War are conflicts well worth looking at.
As I said though Byzantium I'm very much interested in, a very interesting military system and some great battles with other powers i.e. Kleidon, Dorostolon, Manzikert and Durazzo. Well they were probably all rimming each other weren't they like in Brokeback Mountain. |

I'm a history major, although tbh I have no real idea what I'd do with a history degree, considering I definitely don't want to be a teacher. I'm thinking of switching majors to economics.

Students in Turkey learn about the Ottoman Empire in the 7th and 8th grade, so I can say I know most of the Ottoman History with its details. Not so keen on this year's History class though- Romans and other boring twits.
Chemistry is definitely more interesting. Nanotechnology is the future. History is not the future, along with muffdiving. |
