UEFA Champions League place for FA Cup winners?

I heard this idea on MOTD, and I personally think its a pretty good idea. Its an added incentive for teams outside the top 4 to win the FA cup, and lets face it, it will be the only opportunity for some teams in the Premiership to play in the Champions League. That top 4 isnt going to change for a long, long time, can you really see teams like Middlesbrough, Fulham, Man City, Aston Villa and many others reaching a top 4 spot? Winning the FA cup will be there only chance and they will take it more seriously and bring bigger crowds to FA cup matches. What do you all think?

I think this would probably be a good idea, but how many of those teams could cope with European games the next season? It might also be a fast track to a relegation battle.

No winners of the FA Cup outside the top four for the last 12 seasons so that wouldn't make much of a difference since these winners usually have also qualified for the Champions League, either directly or through finishing 3rd or 4th. One big team might be shocked on the way to the final, but at least two will make ths semis.

Not a good idea IMO mate, just cheapens the Champion's League even more.
This would mean that clubs from the other big leagues will have to be included when they win their domestic cups too. (England, Spain, Italy & Germany)

I can see where you're coming from though, but just imagine if the impossible happened and Plymouth won the FA Cup, Greenegg would be even harder to shut up.

Keep the domestic cup winners in the UEFA cup or bring back the Cup Winners Cup.

The runners up take the Uefa Cup place anyway if the winner has already qualified for Europe.

Not a good idea because then the big boy's would just strengthen their hold on the cup! Now teams have a chance because they do like to rotate for cup games!

Absolutely shocking idea. A cup game is 90 minutes, a league season is 38 games long.

You can't possibly justify winning a bunch of one-off games as a good reason for giving the cup a CL place.

Yes. You're rubbish.

What Stella said.

Look at Plymouth, hardly had any competion and if somehow they were to go on to win it you're saying they should get a Champions League space? Wasted as much as it was on Everton a couple of seasons back.

No team outside the top 4 is going to win the F.A. Cup anyway.

Lol the other teams just are not good enough whether you give the FA cup a CL place or not do you think a team outside the top 4 could win it!

Last team to win apart from the top 4 was Everton 95 even then they beat Man Utd in the final 1-0 then you have to go back to 91 cant say the name but they are scum and play in a shithole

Exactly the teams outside the top 4 are just not good enough unlike in Spain where you can have a final in the cup of Zaragoza and Espanyol!

And I am tired of the whole money issue because Arsenal have hardly spent any money especially compared to the other 3!
