Form

I seem to have totally lost the ability to play which is very disconcerting. For some reason I cannot pass, dribble, tackle or shoot any more. Over the last 2 weeks I have won only twice out of about 25 games and that was on penalties with 5 at the back holding a nil-nil through extra-time. What the hell is going on? I think I've played too much lately and need a break before I smash that bloody playstation to pieces.

Ive noticed that you need to change the way you play per game. I sometimes find myself playing on the counter and tend to try to break as fast as possible. This however just makes me lose the ball, lose form, and eventually lose the game. The longer you continue with the same tactic/routine the worse you get. You should try to also just keep possesion in a game, and then sometimes go for the counter. Mix it up, that tends to give me the best results.

wow, i'm glad this happens to someone else!!

i lose form every now and then, the ball wont go to the player, the shots wont stay down, sprinting makes your player slower (seems that way when form is lacking) players get tired quicker!!!!

its mad when it happens! i'm currently going through a bad patch with my free kicks! cant score to save my life!!

i also notice every 50 or so matches, my mates catch on to how i play. i now have about 6 different game strategies and how i play. i rotate them every 30-40 games to keep it fresh!!

i started to do this in the last months of PES 2 when my cousin beat me by 3 goals 4 games in a row (4-1, 4-1, 5-2, 3-0)
i'd never even conceded 3 goals in four consective 2 player matches before never mind LOST 4 consecutive!

something had to be done, so i kept changing the way i play if i struggle for a few games!

Yep, I think it's often a case of two steps forward, and one step back.

I spent a couple of weeks regularly scoring from free-kicks, then lost almost all my instictive feel for them.

I think it was partly due to trying to vary what I was doing before I had it totally ingrained.

A similar thing has happened to me when trying to extend my passing and dribbling techniques - forcing new moves into my gameplay can disrupt the overall 'style' and effectiveness.

I try to look for fairly simple moves that work well together, flowing one into the other quickly, both on screen and for my slow fingers on the controller.

That leads me to lean on L1 and R2 a lot while in possession. L1 for tight dribbling and setting up 1-2's, and R2 for running into space whilst still being able to pass quickly and accurately.
