Is there any way to make the goalie drop the the ball and kick it out from the ground, like you see in games so that they can get out of the area and get more distance to the kick?

Yep - just run to the edge of the box and then just stand there doin nowt. after about 5 or 6 seconds, he drop-kicks it - sorted

Not that I know of.

Would be a good idea though.

Does anyone else find that the keeprs seem to have a reluctance to throw the ball out quickly even when there is a player in acres of space ? It seems to have been the same in all 3 versions of PES, not sure about WE.........YET !!!!!

I agree with you. Would be nice if you could throw the ball out more quickly for some nice counters.

Yeah, and annoying that the keeper refuses to throw if he's already at the edge of the area - no choice but to punt it upfield.

I'm pretty sure it used to be an option on Pro Evo, I'm pretty sure as I used to run with the keeper doing that, but don't quote me on that :P

Anyway it was removed in later games, again if i remember correctly, on pro evo 1 it was the R1 button that dropped it and that no longer works.

And there is definitely and annoying "feature" thats is reluctant to throw the ball out.

the goalie won't throw unless your man is completely open

He can't throw far, only to nearby defenders.

also he wont throw if hes at the edge of the box because if the computer runs the throwing animation he will hand ball it. like he drops the ball on the spot n kicks it if hes on the egde because if the computer runs the running drop kick annimation he will run it out of the area and it will be a hand ball.
so the best way to throw quick is to take a few steps back into your area

i've seen the keepers take 2 steps outside of the box in an animation

i've never seen a handball/penalty called on a keeper in PES.

penalties from the keeper happened loads in Pes2. you could just run at him straight and then dart off at an angle using the super sprint thing (r1+r1 when at an angle). it worked 75% of the time, and at least 20% of the rest of the time, u skinned the keeper and had a tap in.
