Training Fledgling players
I have trained up two of the fledgling players over the last season and they have turned into absolutely cracking additions to my team.
The secret is to have them playing in every game, that way you get between 50 and 60 points to allocate. When they are not playing then they just get 10. No transfer fee to pay. Tricky thing is to know what you want for a player and what each of the attributes gives you. I have trained up a FWD that rivals Raul. My first attempt at a OMF ended up with a guy that passes like a god but who falls over if looked at. Looking forward to training up a GK and DF. Seriously suggest you give this a try. Add a new dimension to your play experience. |

Like I wrote, getting the balance right is tricky.
For my FWD I concentrated on short range passing, dribbling and shot accuracy. I ended up with most of his main attributes (speed, stamina) at either 80 or 85. Where as long range passing, free kicks and curling never moved from the initail allocation. I got the feeling that the FWD received more points overall than my OMF. I will see what happens with the DF and post results. For a DF I would concentrate on speed, stamina, jump, aggression, response, agility, short and long range passing. Ooops forgot teamwork (important for a DF to have this). I could have just gone into Edit mode and created the player from scratch but this way is more enjoyable as you take a real interest in the players development over the training period. GK is going to be a killer as the goal mouth will be virtually empty for the first five games. |

Yea but with DF you dont get enough points too get all those things up in tha 80's. I was concentrating with stat defence tha most, but he seemed to be lackin other things like what you mentioned. Gettin all the things which you said is quite tricky since its quite hard just to get um in tha 85's!! I only tried 1 player out and from my experience with that i dont think i'll be doing it again. There was a person here where his mate figured out how to get infinate points he done sumthing and he could put as much as he liked... have a search for it, i might try it out once i find the thread for this!!

defenders are best to train up!!!!
tip: get a forward and play him up front a couple of games they get points more quicker then boost up his skills defensive wise. you'll have your own personal dion dublin who can play decent up front and good in defence! |

I've just started a master league and am still trying to muster my first win (the starting team is SO very crap). So anywhat I was wondering when you get the option to train your players?

apply for negotiatons/select by team/growth then choose a player from there. Once you bought him keep playing him in games and making him score etc. then u get more points to add to his ability.
I did this with Piliniak and Titanes. Top scorers in the league ![]() |

Right, tested out a couple of players and here is what I found.
The number of points you get for each position decrease the further back you are from the center spot. Forwards average 60 pts a game Mid field players average 30 pts a game Goalies max out at 16 pts a game If you play the trainee in every game you get a run of ten to fifteen games (not sure the exact number). So for a forward expect to have approximately 600/700 pts to allocate. I found it almost impossible to get the goalie anywhere decent. Yeah, okay, Goal keeping skills at 93 and agility/jump/balance into the eighties but the guy has no speed and zero stamina. So the moral of the story is...... ....use training for forwards and midfielders but forget defenders and goal keepers. Last edited by SubCrawler; 31-12-2003 at 00:58.. |

Ibsen the most popular CF.
Trained him and got 99 for most striker stats and even stars. |

Another snippet of information on new players.
1. They only play for one team. You can not transfer them. 2. If you release them they return to the growth team and all the stats return to the default. Very useful when you screw up the attributes. 3. The ones ideal to work with - Ibsen, Pepita and Piliniak. 4. Celtic 3 - 0 Rangers. Hail Hail |
