Missing Players

I am a newbie, so bear with me........................

After downloading (and successfully installing) Wolfs' Xmas patch, I thought i'd have a go at creating my wonderful (ahem!) Leicester City. I foolowed kit and flag instructions from elsewhere and created them over another team (can't remember who, but I think they were Austrian.

Anway, I then spent 3 hours in the player edit section, creating 15 players. Obviously this has left some of the original players in the squad, but I thought i'd be able to substitute them out.
The problem that I have is that when I go to play a match, some of the players I edited don't appear and i'm left with a mix of original and edited players.

Any ideas how I can swap my edits into the starting squad?
