PC - PES 2008 Loading Issue

I've installed PES 2008 on my laptop now but it won't load. I've used the widescreen fix etc. However, when i load i get the caution window:

"Warning:
Your computer does not meet the minimum specifications necessary to run this software.
You may experience errors during operation.
The video card does not have the necessary specifications: (Vertex/Pixel Shader 1.x)"

However, the gfx card on the laptop is an integrated Intel 965 Express Chipset which, from looking online and googling supports up to 3.0!?!?!

Any ideas on how to fix this? There is a new driver on Intel's website but I cannot install it as the laptop is a Dell laptop and i get an abort window pop up telling me to obtain drivers from the computer manufacturer, i.e. Dell, but i've already downloaded the newest driver Dell have.

Any ideas????

It's a Dell Inspiron 1520 if that helps.

If you've read the entire first post in this thread, I'll likely be wanting to know the specs of your laptop, including the OS you're using. It could be a case of sub-standard Konami not recognising your graphics chipset but not necessarily and there should be a way around it.

try turning down your sound accelleration

start > Run>type ''dxdiag> click the tab sound and turn it all the way down tht was my problem after other things wouldnt allow it to work

Cheers for the replies!

My specs are:

OS: Windows Vista Home Basic
RAM: 1GB
GFX: Intel 965 Express Chipset
HDD: 80GB
CPU: Intel Celeron 540 1.86GHz

I just realised that if i choose "Ignore" on the caution warning it does take me into the game but only on low settings. If i try and choose medium or high settings it tells me that i need the gfx components. This to me seems to imply that my specs are fine to play it and it's just this issue that spoiling it.

I tried the dxdiag suggestion and i got a sound 1 and sound 2 tab, neither of which i can change any settings. However, the display specs on it say it has Dx10 and that DirectDraw, Direct 3D and AGP Texture accelerators are all enabled.

Any ideas?

its your gfx card is it an internal graphics card or graphics chipset ?

as that wont run anything well if you have a PCI-E slot you coud look into buying a 50-80 quid nvidia gfx card if you want to that is of course if its just for once game then only bother if your tht desperate

To be honest, I think you'll be stuck as it is using the on-board graphics. Find out if you have a graphics port within the laptop so that you could buy a laptop version of a Geforce 8 series card but I'm thinking you likely won't have.

If you look here though:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_GMA

And scroll to the table down the page, you'll see that the G965 support up to Vertex Shader and Pixel Shader 3.0.

Therefore, I'm confused as to why I'm getting this issue as my graphics unit in the laptop should be capable of handling it???

But has the game been written to recognise the G965 on-board chipset? It probably has but with Konami having not tested the game on either 64-bit XP or any version of Vista, I won't hold my breath.

In your first post you said that you'd tried the widescreen fix but didn't mention Kitserver....have you tried with Kitserver? It is the workaround for most people with the same issue as you.
