Cant believe no one commented on the Joey Barton post, Barton made contact with the ball also on Saturday but also went through and fouled Alonso very similar to what happened tonight but United fans are now calling for Fletchers Red to be wiped but I saw some of the members on here slating Barton.....He lunged in the box, he got what he deserved, he wouldnt have played in the final anyway.

Wenger has an eye for young talent, but he never thought that Flamini could become that good and it has cost you. I think if you still had him, you'd have been challenging for the title again. |

You've got to feel for Gibbs, but I think too much emphasis has been placed on him. Where was the pressure to stop the ball to Ronaldo in the channel? Why did Ronaldo lose Djourou and get a ball in so easily? Where the fuck was Toure? How did Park have enough time to do what he done and lift it over Almunia? Why wasn't Toure on the line, or at least jumping to stop it? Catalogue of errors, not just Gibbs'. And I agree with Viperized on the British thing. It's preferable to have them, of course, but Arsenal could use that fight and experience together. That's not neccessarily coming from British kids. Look at the best ball-winners in the league, Essien and Mascherano, not British. Mentally, British players aren't neccessarily strong either. Add another centre-half, defensive-midfielder and 'keeper, all proven, and you lot could be mega. Really mega.

Yeah, Arsenal can become a greater force to challenge United for supremacy. Considering Cesc Fabregas was out for a large part of the season, Rosicky was out for the whole season, Arshavin ignited the team when he came and him being able to be there from the very beginning now. And Senderos coming back

The squad needs some more experienced players who have character and are actually talented. It's no coincidince since the decline/sales of Vieira, Henry, Bergkamp, Pires and co. that they aren't what they used to be. As well as all being top quality players they all had plenty of experience as well as all being tough mentally. I'd class Arshavin in a similar vein, but not a lot of their team at the moment.

The current crop have shown glimpses of talent, just Wenger needs them to perform on a consistent basis and that is his hardest task, shall he scrap what he has planned for the last 3-4 years by Spending money? Like it was silly to compare Diaby to Vieria when he first came to the club. But the one performance that stood out was the San Siro game, I havent seen him do that many times after that.

Our 4th fucking season without a silverware. Anyone reckon Wenger will be offloading Adebadoo? Hope A.C's still interested in him. Anyways lads, on to Sunday's crunch tie against Chelski, and this time Wenger must start Arshavin. I hope our players can the leave CL nightmare behind.

Despite still having that sickening feeling in my stomach this morning when I got up, I'm getting comfort out of the idea that a freak mistake cost us the tie.
Liverpool's win last season had a longer more devastating effect simply because I felt we were kinda cheated out of it, where Utd just got extremely lucky to be gifted a goal start. Lets be real, if that defected shot early on hit the net instead of going for a corner kick the whole tie would of panned out different. I'm not taking anything away from Man U here, they're a good team and over the 2 legs did what was required.

Personally, I think we should be looking to sell the following:
Adebayor Silvestre Bischoff Senderos Traore Simpson Diaby Bendtner I think we could raise PLENTY of cash with the sale of these players. Then using this money plus the transfer budget offered by the board, we could add a quality CB, midfielder to partner Cesc and a goalscoring forward. But this is probably an unrealistic dream.. :\ Oh and, some news about Bendtner. What a muppet. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz...sh-Europe.html p.s. expect another trophyless season if Wenger doesn't sort the squad out. :\ Our defence is awful. We cannot seriously expect to challenge for honors if we keep the squad as it is. |

Bischoff wants to leave anyway, Senderos doesnt look like staying either. Im sure Wenger will still be up Adebayor's arse so he may stay. I dont think Diaby will leave either.

I've got over the game last night now, only because they won due to 2 tiny mistakes. I hope Wenger sells Adebayor in the Summer, I've had enough of him, we need a more prolific scorer. And the defence and midfield also needs improving in the Window, and if we have to sell to raise funds that Arsene should do that. There's too many players who can be world class players in 2-3 years, yet they're poor compared to players at Man United, Chelsea and Liverpool, our squad seems to be more for the future (which has its positives I guess) and there isn't enough quality and experience for us to seriously challenge for silverware next season.
I'd like there to be more English players in the Arsenal first team but yeah they're too over-valued so yeah we may have to stick with the current internationality of the squad, not bothered as long as the trophies are being won. :\ I miss the glory days It's time Arsene splashed everything he has available to him and sorting his squad out. |
