Absolute horror show. What a pathetic performance from a team which looks like has no balls.

We were extremely lucky to win. We don't have any cutting edge nor any penetration. Stevie Wonder would do better in the final third than our useless attack.

Also, Mertesacker looks way too slow for the PL and will probably be a shit signing for us. Yeah, although he is a seasoned international, I just don't think he's a player capable for playing for us and our tactics.

I said exactly the same thing about him being too slow for the Premier League

I'm sure he'll improve but in terms of speed he's going to get found out playing for a team that plays a high line.

A win's a win and no matter we might've played today, we've got the 3 points!

First win of league campaign and I'm sure the lads will build on this as they look to get over the Old Trafford nightmare.

Borussia Dortmund away next - their stadium's incredible and I'm sure Ze Germans shall create a monstrous atmosphere on the night.

Fingers crossed the leaders come out and we can steal another victory to get the group stage off to a perfect start

Will be very tough though, don't get me wrong.

I'm more worried that Van Persie seemed out of sorts. I really hope he can get back among the goals.

You do realise we only scored due to a Swansea error?

Better teams would have punished us today. Like how we got systematically destroyed by Manchester Utd.

Yes I'm aware of that but think on the positive side for once. You can't just expect the new signings to instantly gel together when they've only been at the club for just over a week.

They're going to need a good few games to adapt to the way everyone plays and how everyone likes the ball to be played to them, etc. etc..

We've won today and kept a clean sheet! You surely weren't expecting a 6-0 today, were you?!

Just got back from the game. Not one that will live long in my memory, I have to say, but at least we won and I think that hugely important. We still look slow and tentative when we attack which is worrying, but not unexpected given the amount of new players coming in. I thought Arteta did alright, although he didn't create too much. Benayoun looked alright and I actually thought Mertesacker had a decent game, although he is pretty slow. Szczesny was Motm again. Coquelin looked quite decent when he came off the bench. Arshavin was his usual lazy, but occasionally mercurial self - great finish for the goal. Gibbs had a lot of trouble with Nathan Dyer and looked like a player not quite back to full fitness. Frimpong had a pretty poor game in all honesty and Walcott was diabolical, not even looking like he cared.

Overall, performance wasn't great, but we certainly needed a win and we got that. Not looking forward to Dortmund away though.

We were poor, but thank fuck we got a win. Any other result would've brought the boo boys out and the players' confidence could've been knocked (even further).

And so disinterested. Frimpong, Koscielny and Szczesny were the only players that showed up today. Gibbs started off well, but waned after half time.

I thought the new players were enthusiastic enough as well, but I do agree that some players need to show more commitment and focus on the pitch *cough*Walcott
