Arsenal aren't keeping clean sheets anymore as you would expect, they tend to concede at least one goal from one way or another, and not scoring enough to beat that.

Think they don't boast a clean sheet in their last eight games or something.

More youth teamers should be promoted to the first team in my opinion. Right now there's only Ashley Cole in the starting 11, no one else.

you cannot drop henry.. even when he is playing shit house.. he still poses a threat.. and makes other teams almost double mark him.. although i do agree with more youth players need to be in the team on a rotation basis

I don't know why the panic should set in, at the end of the day we only lost 1 match. And the handful of draws were good results, the Palace game we should have lost but we didn't, most other teams would have lost going by the currant form of C palace in the league these days. And them boys were well up for taking the scalp of the great Gunners.

IMO if a bad patch it a couple of draws then thats fine by me.

P.S. Anybody hear about our U16 beating Chelsea reserves the other night?

Haven't heard of that.

By Arsenal's high standards they should be winning all the time, even against classy teams, so I guess draws can be considered as disappointing results.

Now the youth team looks more confident than the senior team, they have won at the City of Manchester stadium against the big guns, and won at home too. Whereas the sennior team has not been on good form of late...

Agree with everything you say there. If we get back to winning ways against Sp*rs on Saturday i will be quite content with how we have responded to our first defeat in 50 Premiership games.
I heard about the young reserve side beating Chelsea 2-0 comfortably. 2 gifted young Irishmen getting on the scoresheet, Anthony Stokes and Stephen O' Donnell?

According to numerous reports, Arsenal are likely to recruit Emanuel Eboue from Belgian feeder club Beveren during January's transfer window. After impressing Wenger during his summer trial, he is now tipped to move for him in the transfer window, with Beveren to ask for a small fee and some Arsenal youth/reserves on loan in exchange.

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich;s Ghanian rock Sami Kuffour has again stated his desire to play for Arsenal.

Obviously, he wants to get a second Champions League medal to add to his trophy collection

For a laugh read the above article, an example once again of Real Madrid thinking they are entitled to sign any player in the world. Nice to see they have got over Vieira's rejection though :p

http://football.guardian.co.uk/comme...351084,00.html

^^ That is an interesting article on the Arsenal youth, highlighting the likes of Quincy Owusu Abeyie, Jermaine Pennant, Artuto Lupoli and Justin Hoyte.

Real Madrid defender Roberto Carlos believes Arsenal’s Patrick Vieira made a mistake in turning down a move to the Spanish giants in the summer.
"Vieira did not want to come because he thought that demonstrating his love for Arsenal was more important,” the Brazilian told AS.

"But when somebody says no to Real Madrid, it is necessary to let him tell why.

"It seems to me incomprehensible that a player says no to Madrid."

You know Roberto Carlos once said he will only consider a player world-class if he has played for Real Madrid. Vieira must be having none of those, he's already a world-class player

Cesc Fabregas 1-0 England u-21's (minus Bentley & Pennant :D)

Fabregas ends Taylor's unbeaten record.

Under-21s: Spain 1-0 England

Match Report:

Acting captain Glen Johnson was sent off for the second time as an England Under-21s player as Arsenal's teenage sensation Cesc Fabregas ended Peter Taylor's unbeaten record in Tuesday night's friendly.

Chelsea defender Johnson picked up a needless second yellow card for dissent in the 70th minute after disputing a challenge on defender Nicky Hunt.

The 20-year-old was also dismissed in the European Championship qualifier with Turkey in Besiktas 13 months ago.

England were without several of their regular line-up - including Jonathan Stead, Gary O'Neil, Nigel Reo-Coker, Jermaine Pennant and David Bentley.

But they were second best for long periods, with Fabregas showing some delightful touches when he came on as a half-time substitute.

Middlesbrough winger Stewart Downing has been widely tipped to force his way into Sven-Goran Eriksson's senior squad. But he was restricted to the final half-hour after completing the entire 90 minutes for his club against West Brom just 48 hours earlier.

He produced England's best two efforts of the game in the final stages in a game of precious few clear-cut openings.

Carlton Cole and Darren Bent worked hard up front but they had little service to feed on. The Spanish were in control in the centre of the park and could have won by a bigger margin.

England had an early let-off when Hunt appeared to foul Xabi Prieto just inside the penalty area. But the player stayed on his feet, and German referee Franz Wack waved play on.

The home side dominated possession in the opening stages, Prieto looking impressive and showing neat control.

Peter Whittingham almost played in his Villa team-mate Cole, who was crowded out by two defenders, as the visitors came more into the game.

The first half-chance fell to England after 25 minutes following a right-wing cross from Johnson.

Cole slipped the ball into the path of Bent. But he was slightly slow to react, and Spanish goalkeeper Riesgo was able to save at his feet.

Johnson, captain in place of the the injured O'Neil, collected the first yellow card of the game after 30 minutes for a reckless challenge on his Spanish counterpart Iniesta.

Justin Hoyte almost presented a chance to Sergio Garcia, deflecting a centre into his path at full stretch, but the control of the Spanish striker let him down.

England ended the half by forcing a string of corners, but the whistle went with neither goalkeeper having had a shot in anger to deal with.

The visitors made two half-time substitutions, Crystal Palace defender Ben Watson and Derby goalkeeper Lee Camp replacing Daniel Harding and Scott Carson respectively.

Spain opted for four second-half changes including 17-year-old midfielder Fabregas.

Cole headed down a centre from Johnson. But Bent was unable to seize onto the opportunity, and Riesgo dealt with the situation.

Camp had to make the first meaningful save of the game after 58 minutes when he turned a dipping volley from Jesus Navas around the post.

Downing finally entered the fray a few seconds later - but within five minutes Fabregas had given the home side the lead.

A free-kick from the left flank was floated across the area, and Fabregas was completely unmarked as he side-footed home with his left foot at the far post.

England were reduced to 10 men by Johnson's dismissal and were hard pressed to contain the Spanish in the closing stages.

Fabregas fired just wide after some fine skill, and Iniesta tested Camp from the edge of the area.

But in between Downing was only inches off target on a couple of occasions.

Good old Fabregas, he'll be in the senior squad soon if he keeps his current form up.

Stuart Taylor joins Liecester City

Talented young English keeper Stuart Taylor has joined Liecester City on a 1 month deal, but when he inevitably impresses new boss Craig Levein i am sure we will wave goodbye to what should have been our ideal replacement to good old 'safe hands' himself Seamo
Good luck to the guy though, i was hoping he would make his name at the Gunners but i wish him all the best at proving himself at Liecester and wouldn't put it past him making a strong claim for the England no.1 jersey in the next couple years if he plays to his potential at Liecester and i expect him to soon be playing in the Prem again and putting in superb performances while we look back on another perfectly good youngster we have practically given away.
Of course, it is not for definite that Stu will join Liecester permanently and hopefully it is just a shrewd bit of business by AW to ensure he gets some games under his belt but I am very concerned we will not be seeing Taylor in the Arsenal shirt again

Signed, sealed, not quite delivered :P

21 year old Ivory Coast defender Emanuel Eboue has signed a 4 and a half year deal at Arsenal.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...al/4025681.stm

He will join the Gunners in January and should provide good competition for the defenders as he is versatile enough to play both right back and centre back.

Meanwhile, AW has declared his admiration for Italian duo Gennaro Gattuso and Italian right-back Massimo Oddo. "Can you imagine what sort of midfield he would make alongside Patrick Vieira?" Wenger is reported as saying, referring to Gattuso. Yes i can ...

Gattuso is definitely an outside bet for a player coming to Arsenal, and Milan can't afford to part with him because they don't have any other holding midfielders, like Pirlo, Seedorf, Rui Costa can't play there.

I don't think Wenger will make a move for either of them, especially now that Eboue is brought in, I think he was just talking to an Italian magazine about the Italian players he likes.
