I listened to Adrian Durham on my way home from work. This replays on my radio at midnight your time. The entire discussion during my ride was about United claiming they are in the lead for van Persie for 20mill. I can't find any reference to it on this site which surprises me given the timing this news was hitting the radio from the original airing.

Looking for some feedback from you guys on the validity of this report. Most people believed a better fit than City for van Persie because he would get games in the starting XI. This general news blindsided me on my way home.

I still think that if Van Persie leaves, he'll go to Italy. I don't think United needs another striker, even if Berbatov leaves. There's plently of options, like Kagawa can play behind the main striker.

I would prefer if United signs a central midfielder and a left back.

Neither Manchester club need van Persie. United have Rooney, Kagawa, Welbeck and Hernandez to think about. Buying a 29 year old wouldn't make sense.

City could shift Tevez or Dzeko to fit him in. But that wouldn't be smart. Aguero and Balotelli should be the priority, as they are both young and still developing (into fantastic players). So what's the point in having van Persie on massive wages on the bench? Goals were not a part of City's problems last year. And tbh, with the current 4 they have, they have 4 different styles of strikers.

If Arsenal are willing to sell to City, they would sell to United. You're not going to get crazy money for a player who is on the last year of his contract, 29 years old and has made it clear that he is not signing an extension.

Well we won't sell for less than £25m which is what I'm hearing and I doubt United would pay that for a 29 year old. City would only because they can afford it.

Even if Juve offer 5-10m less, we should sell him to them. It's not like we don't have any excess funds from past transfers out of the club.

Can RVP play left back?

We know Fergie likes him but I think it would be a waste of money. Must rather we invested in a left back. The wages he would want is ridiculous and you that as soon as he did sign for us he would get injured nd be out for a year.

You guys are underestimating Robin Van Persie,its equivalent to Arsenal,City and Juventus having the chance to sign Rooney.The things he could do for you,the title could basically be yours again with a player of this calibre in your ranks,we are talking about the best player in the league guys.
