Well he certainly won't be welcomed with open arms that's for sure. |

I think it would be a stupid move if he went for it, unless he has some sort of background in MMA then he will more than likely get his ass handed to him.

Can't see him switching over to MMA, especially with all his reported hand problems, it would be silly. He's going down a rap career path now, so whether he can do MMA too is a bit of a push.

He would get smashed. Boxing's one thing but without any take down skills he really would get dealt with imo

Unless he trains solidly for 2-3 years he will get no where.

Just another scheme to duck his opponents.

Sounds like a publicity stunt, the bloke he is going to do this "MMA" with has only hosted two events. If a person of his calibre wanted to do MMA he would be talking to a much larger organization in my opinion
Probably just a favour for a friend ![]() |

Two kicks to his shin and he'll go down faster than BarnDoor on his grandfather, when the old bastard was in the casket, and no one was looking.

The sole purpose of such a story is to get media attention.
Cuban wants to become the top dog in MMA. He landed Fedor and now he wants to build on that drawing fans in. |

I think it's fact that on any day a professional boxer that is and has been boxing in the highest level possible for atleast 10 years like Mayweather, can clean out any UFC fighter within the first round. It's not a matter of if he has any takedown skills, it's the matter of can the opponent actually get their hands on him without suffering some severe head injuries before hand. We already saw what he did to Hatton, who IMO has the same, if not, more, tenacity than any UFC fighter. The level of professional boxing is much higher than that of MMA. |

There is no way that Mayweather would be able to dodge or beat down a wrestler, or a Jiu-jitsu practicioner, rushing towards his waist - and you know that's the first thing they do when facing a boxer. He might be able to backtrack a bit and land a couple to the back of the head, but if he doesn't get lucky, he's going down and wouldn't last very much. I've seen many fights, though i don't like the UFC, and i have never seen anyone accomplish what you suggest. A punch to the back or side of a well protected head, is hardly going to knock a good MMA fighter out.
