Clichés And Your Club
Basically this thread has come to light from myself, to do with what sort of clichés are often attached to your club.
Personally I'm sick of hearing how Newcastle want to win 4-0 every game, how we'd rather lose as long as we played attacking football, how we all want Shearer to be our next manager etc I do find it quite annoying, especially as the media paints the picture that this is the general consensus how we want things, when in reality it couldn't be further from the truth. Every fan wants to win, but to win while playing good football is just a bonus IMO. |

I am in the same boat as you Jonny2J. I'd rather see my team, whether the team is playing good football or not.

That all our football is boring and played in the sky is starting to grate on my tits.
The way we play is suited to the best way to win. If we're playing a small, lightweight defence we will go direct to Sidibe, same with if we're chasing a game. But, if we can get it down, expect to see some flicks from Lawrence, Cresswell, Sidibe, Parkin and majorly Fuller. Ricardo Fuller's someone who doesn't work with long balls on his head, he needs it on the deck into his feet, or played along the ground into the channels. The fact that he's done so brilliantly and got himself 13 goals or so proves the balls aren't always being stuck over the top. It's an easy journalistic tag, which wankers like West Brazil Albion (or so they think) seem to think rings true and is an easy excuse. If we're that one-dimensional then you lot and your teams are fucking shit for not being able deal with such a stale, simplistic side.

Little Plymouth
The Sleeping Giant: Bollocks we must be fucking comatose. Players don't like playing this far down the Country ![]() Another thing that annoys me is this scenario- Tard: Who do you support? Me: Plymouth Argyle Tard: No I mean who is your big team

How Arsenal are responsible for the downfall of the England national team, and Arsenal have too many foreigners.

People saying we're a big/massive club when we're not.
Not yet anyway. |

How people say all our fans are bigoted, sectarian hooligans when its really a tiny fraction which is rapidly decreasing.

It's not so much of a cliche, but it annoys me when commentators continue to go on about where the away fans are sat at St James Park. Yes, it's high up - but come on it's a damn sight better view than you are going to get at a lot of grounds.

It depends what you interpret as a "big club". Is it by fanbase? History? Trophies? The area? Some would argue that Nottingham Forest and Leeds are big clubs, despite being in League 1.

I am sick of it also, people talking about Madrids Defense saying its always vunerable and you always have a chance against them....we have the best defensive record in La Liga this season and had the best one last season so that is getting old, also the Galactico tag that has come to us over Perez, he is gone so get over it, we are not signing them players anymore and are now signing young players with great futures not players who have won everything and are in only in it for the money.

Its bloody well not! Goodison Park is by far and away the worst view I've been to, then probably Colchester, Palace and Scunthorpe, but I'm struggling to think of any worse after that.

In a corner high up is clearly more of a view than behind a goal in a low tier.
