You know what really grinds my gears....when you have an awesome interview, they tell you that they really like you and depending on the success of the final interviewee the following day, you've more than likely got the job? Then they don't phone you the next day but you get another shitter job you don't really want and are sitting up typing some crap up on pesgaming because you really don't know what decision to make. Stick with your current shit job with a guaranteed income, or go to a shit sales job and have the possibility of earning mega bucks, but with no base salary also have the prsopects of earning big fat wad.

"You know what really grinds my gears?"
People that think Africa is a country not a CONTINENT! The Nation of South Africa is a COUNTRY not a REGION! Its mostly Americans who think its a COUNTRY! And that is what grinds my gears.

Lots of things "grind my gears".
- Ugly woman in clubs (or anywhere for that matter) who look at you with this horrible look of contempt on their face if your eyes fall on them in anyway. What makes this even worse is the fact that (excuse the arrogance) I'm a very good looking boy and these girls look at me as if I don't deserve to be looking at them. Come on, for goodness sake, you're a munter anyway, you'd get nowhere near me, I can afford to be picky. - Miggy's one about people who stop in the middle of the street. Really irritates me. - A street-based one. You're walking along quite the thing and somebody walks into your path expecting you to move for them. I ALWAYS just stop on the spot until they move. Serves the twats right. More later.

Whenever there are old persons standing in the bus, and I have a seat, I usually stand in their stead and offer my seat. I've grown taller and it's a fucking pain to stand while lowering you head. A couple of weeks ago, there was an old woman standing and she quite clearly was having difficulties with standing. I politely offered for my seat and she responded with a disgusted look that one would give upon seeing a misbegotten dirty puppy...and I was totally clean, with my hair well combed, for once. ![]() Absolutely nothing. ![]() |

I used to hate it when i was at my old job, everyday i'd do a 9 hour shift and be fucking nackered by the time i was on my way home, then when i got on the bus, everyday it would be packed all but for a few seats at the front. I always needed to sit down as i spent all day on my feet. Then a few stops later loads of old people would get on after bingo. They looked at me and even once had the nerve to ask (more like tell) me to move. I just laughed and said "Why should i move for you, i've been at work all day graftin my arse off and you have been sat on your arse playing bingo, why should i move". The old bitch called me ignorant and i just carried on sitting there with a grinon my face watching her all the way until she got off standing up

I am aghast! Sean I though you (being from oop north) might've had more respect for your elders?!? The Bingo players of today have likely worked for 40 odd years in worse conditions for less money. Just my opinion though.

To be fair though no one cares about Africa, so this is understandable.

That might be true but we don't owe them anything. Nobody does. I never get up for old people because I was so nice to an old woman once on the bus and she snarled at me and took my seat anyway. I've been cruel since.

Not a question of owing anyone anything. Admittedly you will always get some ungrateful old tosser, but it's just the way I was dragged up.

I always offer my seat if needs be. It has always been something I've done, and just seems the right thing to do. It's not a big sacrifice to make and makes the impression of young people a lot more favourable. It's also basic manners and politeness.
One thing what has pissed me off though, is how few people I've seen wearing poppy's this year. It's not as though you're going out of your way a great deal and these people deserve the honour of being remembered. I can't recall seeing a single kid in school uniform with one on. That's a disgrace.

I was brought up that way as well fick, but as i've got older i've realised that i owe them nothing, so what if they have worked for 60 years. I will one day wake up and be old and will have worked all my life for nothing. Just because they are old they think everybody owes them something and that they don't need to say thanks in return for a nice gesture such as letting them sit down. It is for that reason alone that i hardly let anybody use my seat.
Also, I completely agree about the lack of poppies Nath, i too haven't seen anybody under 16 wearing one. It is really quite bad, i get one every year without fail. I even often pay up to a tenner for one. I know in the grand scheme of things a tenner isn't much, but it is considering most fuckers pay nothing or as little as 10p. I remember at school all the chavs used to ask for one for free off the people who were going round selling them, that is so disrespectful.
