This game looks brilliant, but you know what adverts and trailers are like, tending to disappoint people...

But it does look rather good, I was happy when I heard they were taking the control system from that other flying game, which name escapes me (Ace combat??), so it should make for a nice arial battling experience, with the usual depth of a tom clancy game....Should be good!

Is it online?

Got the game yesterday for ps3, im loving it!
it is online, ive played twice online and it seems lag free (for now)

Just found out today you can have this for the PS3!! I'm considerably more excited now, as I thought it was a PC exclusive!

Last flying game I played was Crimson Skies for the PC

Quality game.

I'll definately get this one when then price drops, I'm not paying £40 for this lol

Dale, im loving this game! i love the whole co-op single player mode too so if you or your mates are stuck you can arrange to meet up and help them out!
however i have had people saying..."ahh well it's suppoesed to be in the year 2014 so why are they using planes in the game what are not used now?" my answer to that is get a life its a fucking game! 1 word awesome! and been online more now it really does seem lag free!

Davie - it came out on Friday. i picked it up from Game i traded in tiger woods 09 with battlefield bad company and added £12 in cash.

Here's my review

I am a hardcore flight simmer (beta tester for Microsft Flight Simulator) and also a part time pilot and I picked this up;

Firstly, as all of you may know, hawx doesn't replicate real flight dynamics nor missiles/cannons, its an arcade game much like Ace Combat.

Having said that, it does have a good variety in terms of levels (solid 19 mission campaign), a great library of fighter jets (40+). Although the level design is very basic (fly from one way point to another, escort, scramble, fly again, escort) and the plot is shit. I feel like a lot more could have been done since we dont have many type of arcade/flight sims on the console. They could have done a simple mid air refueling mini game or even landings and takeoffs (Jet De Go series on the PS/Ps2 had this) would have been great. And there's no ability to create your own missions so its a fairly shallow package. Maybe I am being harsh coming from a sim background but this could have been so much more.
