Penalty shootouts online

Ive played 3 games online which have gone to penalty shootouts. It seems even if you win a penalty shoot out, the match is counted as the extra time result (a draw), and you only win ranking points for a draw. It stops your winning streak stat aswell.
Surely this makes penalty shoot outs online pretty pointless?!

Hmmm, maybe they guess it unfair for someone to lose on penalties? xD

Ending online games in penalties is a good sign that online gameplay has somewhat improved. No more Messi running by 4 defenders, cross it back and boomm score

They have always counted it as a draw if it goes to penos, which i think is stupid.

They should give more points to the player who has the lower points. Many a time i've played a veteran(Barca,Real) and sneaked a draw( Celtic,Real Sociedad)- gone to penalties and won.

Yes they are pointless and for good reason, it would be like deciding the winner of a game by rock, paper, scissors.
